K gentlegenius:There are different levels of Anointing. Sometimes the Anointing can be so strong, even the priests or pastors can't remain on their feet. However most of the time God ministers the anointing through the priests or pastors because they have consecrated themselves through hours of fasting and prayer. But that doesn't mean there are not fake pastors! They are plenty, but God has own genuine ministers! |

It's simply theatrics, which has no place in Christianity. Study the Gospel and show me where the Lord Jesus Christ taught them anything like that! |

Choiceone1:Why don't you say what you know about?? Do you even read your Bible? Give me one single bible verse where any of the 12 Apostles, and Silas, Barnabas, Timothy, Titus (any name at all in all new testament scriptures) ministered and people started falling under the anointing. Just one! |

Salt06:That was Jesus He is God Himself in the flesh. Did Peter or any of the apostles replicate that?? Christianity relies heavily on apostolic precedence. Whatever you didn't read that those apostles did, should raise every hair of skepticism on your head. Are current day Pentecostal pastors more anointed than Peter, Paul and co?? |

judewrites:Just tell me one place in the new testament where that fact is established. At least, I quoted where the Bible said the same anointing abides in us. You can just use mouth to argue against a bible verse - are you a Christian? You must show me another place in the scripture that negates this. |

daniwise:Every time the Apostles touched people, those people rose up from their disability or sickness to walk and jump and praise God. Why would a pastor now touch people and they're doing the opposite - falling?? That needs serious investigation! The Holy Spirit exists surely. But we didn't read in the Bible that He operated that way. |

Look. What Jesus need is repentance and not falling. After falling they go back to their evil ways. Does that mean anything? They continue Sunday worship, they ignore God festivals and ignore God sabbath. The Lord says, many will claim to be wright but don't be deceived only few are wright. Many are called but few are chosen. |

JoeEeL:There's an element of hypnosis in wash-wash and other similar scams where victims are hypnotised into going home quietly to go bring money with strict instruction not to speak to anyone on the way. If you're unaware of this, then no point proceeding with this conversation. |

judewrites:Ephesians 3:20 Simply saying God will give us more than what we ask. No reference to the "measure" of Holy Ghost here. John 3:34 John the Baptist was talking about Jesus here, clearly. Not disciples, not believers. Besides, of what benefit is it to the person that "fell under the anointing" and the pastor that "impacted" them? Will it give them a bigger healing, or repentance, or blessing?? Or will it make the pastor a better preacher?? The Holy Ghost is purposeful, not a show off. And He's not a compelling spirit either. People can get injured or even die from those falls. Do you think God's spirit would want that?? The Spirit does His work effectively without putting the children of God at risk of physical harm! After all, Jesus and His apostles healed people without putting them in harm's way. The gifts of the Spirit are diverse. But none is greater in measure. The only reason one has higher manifestation than the other, is how much you allow Him to use you. It doesn't mean you have "more measure", it means you allow more to flow through you. And if all of us allow more of Him, we'd all be operating at the same level. |

daniwise:I'm not even saying it's staged or bad. I'm pointing out the fact that we need to be very skeptical about these things, and careful not to create a standard out of things the Bible didn't tell us they are. People are easily moved by "miracles", and it's the best way to be deceived. They see raw power, the rush it, and they forget the whole essence of the gospel. |
| Re: Why Do People "Fall Under The Anointing" During Church Services? by judewrites(op): 8:17pm On Jun 22 |
WeirdAlien:Jesus was the given the Holy Spirit without measures, because He is God. Haven't you heard of the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, one has access to the Holy Spirit without measures. But no one can have the fullness of the Holy Spirit like Jesus. As for Ephesians 3:20, it's talking about the power of God through the Holy Spirit in us. That power is in measures in us though it is immeasurable. |

Falling "under the annionting ' is common in , and largely restricted to Pentecostal churches and their members. There is a reason for this The beliefs and expectations of the believers, combined with the emotionally charged atmosphere, trigger certain physiological processes in the body that make them lose control and fall down easily. Though some believers fake it, the experience is real and genuine for the person whose body has responded the right way to make them fall. However, no holy spirit is involved . It is a normal, predictable brain response to a specific set of triggers I already mentioned: the individual's belief and expectations, combined with intense emotional arousal, and sometimes physical factors like tiredness, fasting and prolonged standing. The same brain mechanism is at work in fans of celebrities who faint or swoon when touched by their idols What the mind expects, the body can manifest . For any Pentecostal Christian reading this, please be aware I haven't disnnised the "holy spirit" or said it doesn't exist if that is your belief. I only offered an explanation which finds scientific support for why people fall down easily in church, but which they link to the holy spirit Honestly, apart from the temporary feeling of power or euphoria during and immediately after the experience, there are no lasting tangible benefits that I can see. So, I don't really understand the point of people falling down. Nothing fundamentally changes in their lives afterward. |

triplechoice:From a pentecostal point of view, the visuals are good as they indirectly bring money in through a false visual of the power and prescence of the Holy spirit. All na wash. Baba God dey wait wit koboko as he nor send anybodi dat kain message. |
