Nigeria is the worst place to live in emergency situations, no ambulance, no CPR , no defibrillator. This is reminding you that your chances of survival can be negatively impacted by the stupidity of the people around you

If you were there, I'm not sure the situation would have been different, except maybe you'd not be recording.

You've raised a serious issue but the caused are buried deeper. For example, this could easily become anyone's problem the moment she dies. There's another part of contracting something you know the health care in Nigeria might not be able to handle. Even if they can, accessing good health care is hell in Nigeria.

Should we talk about how many of us do not even have basic knowledge of how to deal with health issues as this? These issues are entrenched in the fibre of our society. It will take a lot of effort by a deliberate government to help us.

So people don’t die unattended to in other countries?

You wannabe’s always just finding the slightest excuse to rubbish your country.

When Carlton Weekly was shot in Chicago, he died due to heavy wounds and slow response which family confirmed that he could have made it. CPR or whatever did not even get administered but wannabe’s won’t point that out. Their country is always the target.
Stop giving excuses for the lack of basic things in a country as big as Nigeria. It is shameful

The fact is most Nigerians have no knowledge of CPR, cardiac related deaths are dangerous because the signs are silent until it's too late.

I know of people who have died from cardiac related issue very suddenly, the reality is these things are 50/50 when they strike it's the duty of everyone to pay attention to their bodies and do something once they feel something is not right.

That last looking at her stature doesn't look like someone who has been struggling to eat twice daily.

She might also have underlying issue such as BP which many Nigerians don't know is an African condition (black people globally suffer from elevated BP) , could be suffering from Diabetes another peculiar disease that affects blacks globally disproportionately or Cardiac related issues that can be a silent killer.

High BP .

Government should arrest any police officer that arest anybody that tries to help anyone to the hospital, wether the person later dies or alive .

This fear of police is primarily why people allow people to die.
The senate has banned the need for police report for gunshot wounds but hospitals and clinics keep demanding for this when an individual presents at the A&E with gunshot injuries.

It should be medical negligence for any doctor to reject a trauma or emergency patient who presents at their clinic and such should be charged immediately.

I work with colleagues who have big bodies, but I know what they usually tell me about how they feed. If you are fat or chubby, not eating food won't automatically slim you down to the lepa standard. If you know you know.

As I said earlier, she died of BP and BP medications these days are very unaffordable to millions of Nigerians. Two people close to me died of BP issues just last two weeks. They both don't look like people who are suffering , but they are.

Furthermore, don't drive and overspeed, when there is a fatal accident, you say one is meant to die.

Condolences.

Life is Like a Vapor. Here now and Gone the Next Moment.
The Breath in you and I is NOT in our Power.
You are NOT the owner of the Breath in you.
Quit all these braggings and noise of this person is this and that. We all are nothing but Mere Dust.

The Moment the owner of the Breath takes HIS breath, we are Gone.

Most Important, Live this Life in the Conciousness of your Eternity.
Heaven is Real
Hell is Real
There Is NO Repentance in the Grave.
Make Peace with JESUS now that you Have the opportunity.

No truer words than this Sir.
The Bible said it is not his wish that any man should perish but to come to repentance... There is no better time to accept Jesus than now

Nigerians need to learn CPR. It’s heartbreaking that once someone collapses in Nigeria, their survival depends only on divine intervention. No “Good Samaritan” first aid. Abi make we talk of the time it takes for professional medical help to come if any.
^^^
Our road is damn long.

'Culture',undecided superstition and a perverse, warped religiosity have all combined to make this country one of the worst places to have a medical emergency - of any kind.

This sensible, prudent talk about CPR, EMS, first responders etc. is gibberish to Nigerians. They don't know it. They don't understand it - and they will punish you for trying to introduce it to them. Be careful. Your attempts to administer CPR will likely be interpreted as some form of 'soul snatching'huh - or trying to capture the 'glory' of the unfortunate victim - or some other nonsense like that. And the mob will make you pay.

After all, this is a country where every ten years or so, (the way normal countries have a census or other normal stuff like that) there is an 'epidemic' of 'genital theft' (people's members or breasts etc.) are 'stolen' by 'ritualists' and 'wicked people'undecided at bus stops, in markets etc. Never mind the unanswered question of how a man's member or testicles can be removed from his body (without anesthetic) in minutes - and the man shows absolutely no sign of pain or discomforthuh?

The best we can do in a medical emergency here is pour a few sachets of 'pure' water on the victim and hope for the best. That's how we roll.

That's how we do it.undecided

Don't entirely blame the onlookers. Nobody wants to buy problem.

Nigeria's failures are mostly systemic.

If a well meaning nigerian tries to be the hero and moves her into his car to try to get her to a hospital or something and she eventually dies in the stranger's possession, that stranger has entered a destiny changing one chance.

The way the police will stress that person eh. He would regret he tried to help in the first place.

The police will know the man obviously didn't kill her but slow bureaucracy will be used to extort him.

The hospitals to are likely to reject her if there's no deposit before treatment.

Nigerian is a lot. But one should not be too quick to blame poor Nigerians. They can't do much in many cases

Point taken.

But we should still talk because the average Nigerian will die 95% percent of the time in any life threatening medical emergency.
