nairalanda1:Let's start from somewhere, gradually, every state will get there, state police will not automatically perform magic, but it will reduce insecurity to a large extent. |

motymop:Any citizen that chooses to be oppressed is their business. How can you vote for someone to 'oppress' you. When citizens are ready to rid themselves of sentiment, reject handouts at the polls and demand accountability and performance from those they WILLINGLY elect, then and only will they will be free of oppression. The rest of the country cannot wait for poor quality citizens to catch up. |

IamAtAnger:And that means that you will have armed robbers, bandits, and boko running the show everywhere, with fulani herdsmen too. Over the ruins of the local state police station. It will happen in all of NIgeria None of your states can fund state police. Unless they are ready to heavily tax everyone in the state, which you folk do not like. Laughs in state police. By the way, congrats on your new overlords the bandits and herdsmen. Make sure you let them eat all the crops.... ![]() |

TimiofAbuja:Because the presidency isn't serious about it. It is all politics to him If he were serious about it. The moment he got into power, within 3months he would have tried doing it together with resource control But the ones that were out of power yesterday who used to shout resource control are now doing as if they don't know anything about true federalism again Iranu |

| Re: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by victoryenergy: 2:09pm On Jun 23 |
Very good move from Mr president, pls while making this law, provision should be made for state police to operate freely without interference from the federal police, infact federal police should be called to the states only when needed, they law makers should include total independence from federal police. |

There is need for a bill to create state Army too Tinubu can't control the one at the center, e better make each state control their own army another bill is also needed to bar Fulanis from migrating to other states in the Central and Southern Part of Nigeria |

elijahozzy:. No government has attempted this since the end of the ignoble First Republic. The successive military dictators couldn’t do it, even when the Generals removed their uniforms and transformed themselves into civilian governments, they still couldn’t do it. The real General Emilokan JAGABAN is doing it, just as he single handedly granted Local Government Autonomy and told the evil governors to go to Hell or go to Court |

nairalanda1:I prefer to pay tax for my security, than to pay Ransome to kidnappers... |
| Re: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by Reference(m): 2:12pm On Jun 23 |
nairalanda1:Yes, Nigerians will willingly pay for security services without a doubt. They will pay for what they see and affects them positively on a daily basis. People pay for security at local levels. They have been paying for years privately, corporately and in their communities through vigilantes and so on. Nothing new there. What they won't pay for is for services not rendered. Services that are misused and abused or services that are used as conduits for corruption and mismanagement. I continue to repeat this. Nigerians pay for things. Nigerians do a lot of things for themselves just waiting and begging for efficient and effective leadership to organise them. |

Let the local government areas start functioning, let LGA chairmen be up and doing. Development starts from the grassroots. |
| Re: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by RichBoy247: 2:12pm On Jun 23 |
Lovit:. State Police will stop them, no need of another bill, it will just cause unnecessary noise. Once they are seen roaming Southern Nigeria, they will be arrested by Southern states Police, their Northern sponsor can then go to Court |

IamAtAnger:Starts with all of you paying a decent tax rate, and your government actively fighting corruption and developing an economy based on...manufactured goods and services. But no, none of you want that. Laughs in state police, and state security. ![]() |

To change national anthem was instantaneous but matter of life and death is not. They all have their security. They don't care. Tinubu failure is very clear. |
