This is a good one, with state police some of these governors who are lazy and always give excuses of not in charge of police but are collecting humongous amount of money as security votes and are called CSO of their states will have no more excuse.

The funny thing about Nigerian politicians is that they act as if the system is working.

Puppets will be pretending as if they have a say in what the president has decided to or not to do. grin

Very good, we need more guns in the hands of indigenous state actors.

State police must comprise of indigenous people of a community, they understand the language, know the terrains and they will be more serious in defending their homeland because it's their homeland.

Starts with all of you paying a decent tax rate, and your government actively fighting corruption and developing an economy based on...manufactured goods and services.

But no, none of you want that.

What is the sense in doing that if the president keeps 53% of the federation account while 36 states scramble for 27%?

Why are you not asking your own senator and representative to amend the constitution for each state and LGA collect taxes and revenue on the mineral resources in their soil? Is that not how farmers & ranchers collect the revenue generated from the minerals in their soil that make crops grow to feed their cows and other animals?

Did you say the same thing 11 years ago to the master strategist who begged Buhari to make Jonathan a one term president? Abi you be hypocrite ni huh

Johnnyessence:
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration lacks the wherewithal to tackle the country’s security challenges.

The former Lagos State governor therefore asked Jonathan to resign as Nigerian president. The APC chieftain spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the formal declaration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s bid for second term in office.

The event was attended by former head of state and APC’s presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari, former vice Abubakar Atiku and governors of Imo, Rivers, Kano, Sokoto and Edo States. Also in attendance were – the Speaker of House of Representative, Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Bukola Saraki, former governors of Kwara and Ekiti States, Alhaji Shaaba Lafiagi and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, APC’s spokesperson, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, member, Board of Trustees of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Razak Atunwa.

Tinubu said, “I saw the sea of refuges caused by the Boko Haram insurgents and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision and creativity. The lies of yesterday are what they repeat today and are what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. “They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the
logic of their lies. “But if you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal
Republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? And you give us excuses every day. In any civilized country Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign, he should wait for our broom, we will sweep him away. I will come back.

“This is just the endorsement of Governor Ahmed, that he will be re-elected by the grace of God with the support of you people here and those outside there. The unemployment situation will be conquered by this administration of APC. We have the vision for the security of the lives of our children.

“The thieves that daily steal your money have not given you any job, they cannot create jobs and they are starving states of funds to pay workers salaries. The best thing to do is to sweep them away through broom revolution. APC is a party of the masses.
“It now behooves on you to begin a house to house campaign that this is a party of the masses.”

The circumstances behind Keir Starmer resignation is different from what we have here. Is PBAT resignation the solution to Nigeria's security challenges no, no and no.
But what i know is that more bandits and terrorists have being neutralized during this administration than any other.

It is not to rush and push the bill, the problem with Me President is that he doesn't think and allow the pressure master him, before dishing out resolves, he only enjoys signing what he doesn't have much input atleast to know the reverse effect on the masses and Police department...

HOW is anywhere the homeland of the first settlers but not the homeland of subsequent settlers?

How is anywhere outside Ile-Ife the homeland of a Yoruba person, for example huh

How is anywhere outside the Garden of Eden, the homeland of Christians for example?

The history of humankind is the history of migration!

Was Tinibu right to call for Jonathan's resignation during the Government of Jonathanhuh

Keir Starmer resignation is only due to inflation, unable to discharge campaign promises....so how is the circumstances not same as Tinibu's ownhuh

Remember his case has nothing to do with didn't Insecurity so Tinibu's case is on high level ..

Nigeria MUST Learn From America System than ever before, especially with the State Police Coming Into Effects.
In America do residents drink water from shitty boreholes because governors, led by Tinubu steal money that should employ workers to make pipe borne water available?

Abi you only cite American example for state police but not for basic government services and utilities huh

The federal government is not responsible for water supply in cities and towns. This is the responsibility of states.

InvertedHammer:
/
It is by far better than Enugu.

500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? Because the governor believes that clean and accessible water is the least of his worries. Yet they prance around like Enugu is Abuja even though the red muddy soil will have residents looking like they went tomb-raiding at night.

But then, considering where it was before Peter Mba, one can understand the accolades being that he moved the town from 16th Century to 17th Century but not anywhere near 20th Century. 21st Century is a stretch. EEDC? The worst of all.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”

While speaking at a stakeholders meeting in the state recently, Adegbite noted that contaminated boreholes in Lekki pose health risk and added that treatment of waste water would eradicate any form of disease that may arise from it.

He said, “On waste water treatment, I will say that everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water.’

If you are not a Stockholm syndrome afflicted patient, kindly share where an Israeli PM promised to secure the country before he fought for and grabbed power but he not only failed to deliver on the basic governance outcome, insecurity became worse under his watch.

Meanwhile, take note of the spelling of ISRAEL.

I doubt. This will only compound issues. State Governors will start using them now to cause serious electoral violence and victimise people. Our things always go the opposite direction.
