Your choice. Just because that particular church didn't treat you well doesn't mean others won't so instead of Christianity, I think leaving MFM would have made a better topic. Remember we also have evil Muslims.

not that particular church. Quite the contrary, they treated me as someone should be treated but that place opened my eyes to the reality of Christianity.

Ushame:
I was born into a Christian family. Although my dad was a staunched traditionalist(a Retired General that believed in the customs of his ancestors)but during the later period of his life, he converted fully to Christianity.

The rest of my family happened to be Christians.

My decision to leave the Christian Religion is borne out of my experience in Mountain Of Fire, prayer city in Ogun State.

I was scheduled for a Liver transplant surgery and a friend recommended i go to Mountain Of Fire, Prayer City at Ibafo Ogun State to fast and pray until the day of the surgery.

I spent weeks in an hotel outside before i learnt they have cheap accommodation inside the place. I went to inspect and was pleased with the arrangements. It reminded me of my few years in the army barrack.

Bunk bed rooms with other Christians of supposedly similar faith. So i went for it and decided to proceed from the camp. I learnt a lot, even more than my last five years put together.

From my observation , sincere and uncoated observation, i learnt that the place is full of people that need mental care rather than prayers. So many people behaving abnormally.

My first week there, more than 10 phones got stolen in that hostel. Someone would just steal phone in the middle of the night and that is the end. At one time, a porter(the supervisor) was even accused of it, which of cause is true because he only said he took the phone to secure it for the owner that was reckless.

Secondly, i tried to mingle with some of the people there. My association with these people made me to realise that there are more charlatans in suite than robbers with guns.

How can a sane person see extortion of funds from miracle seekers in the camp as a means of livelihood. These men would approach people, mostly women and mind hooked them into believing they are there to help them spiritually at a price. And strangely, they are really making money. A full documentary of hell can be done in that camp.

I don't even want to talk about the Charlatans. what about the staffs ?. The hostel(Emmanuel hall) porter supervisor, an Edo man that is always boasting to be there for more than 10 years would make you weep if u see how he talked to lodgers.

He acts like a mental patient. In fact, am just being kind by calling him that. He talks to elderly men with no respect and shout at them as if he is their father. He does as he wants and runs the place with personal vendetta against lodgers just because the lodge fee is cheap(1k).

Someone there told me that after he came back from midnight prayer at the auditorium, he went back to his lodge only to be faced with the so called supervisor that wanted to fight him because he cautioned him against insulting him. He went to a room full of pastors and with lots of empty beds, and explained to them around 4 to 5am but they insisted he sleeps under the rain, rather than use any of the empty beds.

I will take my time to write more about my experience there. But just know this, it is not a place to be at all. Full of mental patients in suites and those that are in denial of their true problems.

That place discouraged my faith and even after i left, i still wake up in the night to ponder on how i tried to mess my mind up living with these people.

If you're looking for God, please take this from me, "God is not in prayer city MFM".

I found fellowship with the Muslims community in Abuja. And I have communicated my desire to some of them. They welcomed me and we broke bread together(ate together) as it should be.

I learnt a lot from Islam. So so much
Please, can you please state what was written on the form which you filled before you were able to access your accomodation..

MFM Prayer City is an open place where anybody, Christian or Muslim even traditionalist can access.

AFTER READING YOUR WRITEIP, I FOUND IT INCOHERENT.
HOW CAN SOMEBODY WITH A LIFE THREATENING HEALTH ISSUE BE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR PHONES? YOU DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE RESULT OF YOUR DELIVERANCE. YOU WENT ON TO SAY THAT YOU WANTED TO MAKE FRIENDS.
FOR YOUR GOODNESS, DON'T BE POSTING LIES AGAINST MFM. YOU MAY NOT LIVE TO SHARE YOUR STORY. TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED.
Re: Why I Wanted To Leave Christianity To Islam Because Of MFM Prayer City by Dreal1247:
For clarity purpose, I want to give a detailed answer to your write up.
1. Our father in the Lord, the General Overseer understanding the economic situation of the country is trying to make accomodation in the Prayer City as cheap as possible to serve those seeking for deliverance.
2. It's announced that everyone should deposit their valuables with proper documentation for safe keeping.
3. Nobody is permitted to exceed two weeks in the Prayer City unless there is a necessity for that and must be with the right recommendation.
4. Announcements are repeatedly made about individuals who take advantage of deliverance candidates . Individuals are advised to report the culprits who are at times fake pastors and ministers, fake contract vendors, fake visa agents., property agents or even medical personnels.
5. People are not allowed in the hostels during prayer sessions.
Unfortunately, some individuals who fail to follow the instructions fall victims of avoidable bitter experiences. And because of their failure to comply with the laid down instructions, they find it difficult to report their issues to the authority.
Of course, when the children of God gathered in the book of Job, Satan was also among them.
Please I will counsel you to channel your complain your issue to the right channel. And I know that you will get the right treatment.
People with diverse life threatening sicknesses, diseases, infirmities and all types of life challenges have their testimonies. Some are reading your posts. You may be on the road to your healing and your enemies who don't want it manifest are making you to encounter the wrong people, thereby hindering the finger of God in your life.
I wish you good luck. God bless you.

Yes all you wrote there are bad things but I thoughts your faith was suppose to be attached to God not People actions ....

If you are judging faith by people action then you never had it

I wonder how you feel about those bandits and kidnappers of Ur same religion ..

Lastly this Ur write up is written by a Muslim trying to click bait and anger bait Christians

Your post just shows you don't have any personal relationships with the person you were following but you were only there for the benefits. You aren't a Muslim too because I'm sure anytime you're treated badly by the Muslims knowingly or unknowingly, you'll also leave. You aren't a religious person just a person looking for which religion that would help him out. I'm sure when you're okay, you'll leave to another one just to keep elevating yourself.

If you were a Christian, you'll wouldn't leave just because of others action, your reward will be between you and God. Personally, I don't belong to any denomination but that doesn't mean I don't have personal relationships with God. So I don't believe there's anything humans can do to change my perspective.

Always remember the only religion that can supersede human nature is 'love'. No matter how you jump from one to the other, you'll always find bad ones or the ones that aren't fully faithful and if you keep running, its better you worship humans than claim you serve God.
Re: Why I Wanted To Leave Christianity To Islam Because Of MFM Prayer City by TruthHurts1(m): 11:55am On Jun 23
Well, you're a grown man. And you have the right to follow your conscience wherever it leads you.

But as a Christian myself, what I will tell you is that you may be letting yourself in for a disappointment because when you get to your new destination, don't be surprised that you will very likely encounter the same set of circumstances.

In Christianity, you shouldn't judge and condemn God because of the immorality of some wolves in sheep skin who profess with their tongues to follow God, while their hearts are far away from Him.

You should judge Christianity by the moral foundation and moral character of the central founding figure of the faith, which is Christ Himself.

I won't judge you because there's no doubt you put your faith in human nature and it let you down. Rather I will keep you in my prayers.

I can ask u some few questions now and u will confirm what i said with a different use of words.

U know what i said is the truth.

Why are u guys always preaching/announcing to Ur rich members to run far away from Ur poor members

Why do u preach against giving alms

Why do u treat poor people with disdain and complete disregard.

If u vex me now, i will go there and make a video evidence of everything by next week and upload it on social media to gain more grounds on this topic.

I have nothing against DK Olukoya, my anger is that he gave the place to freaks and charlatans to run.

Olukoya personally said they should not increase the fee, and he supported a lot of people too. He even helps other religion followers and i believe he is not aware of these activities over there.

If u want hard proof, source me to provide u video evidence of more than 10 fake pastors in a day and every inhumane activities of staffs working there.
Re: Why I Wanted To Leave Christianity To Islam Because Of MFM Prayer City by TruthHurts1(m): 12:46pm On Jun 23
I'm beginning to suspect you were never a Christian to begin with.

Where in the Bible does it say that Christians do not give alms?

Christ said we should give alms secretly, not publicly for the purpose of gai6n human praise:

Matthew 6:1–4
“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them...”

He also says that those who give alms mainly to be admired by others have already received their “reward” (human approval).

“Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.”

Just because Christians don't carry a megaphone and brag about our alms giving, doesn't mean that we don't give to the poor.

Your story sounds dubious because it can easily be disproved with a 2 minute reading of the MFM's policy on giving alms to the poor.

In the MFM's daily devotional guide, Mountain Top Life, the General Overseer, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, frequently teaches that caring for the poor should be a constant practice. He teaches that true religion involves actively helping those who are suffering.

MFM even has a global department called the We Care Ministry. This group is specifically set up to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and provide shelter and financial support to the less privileged.

So I don't believe your story.

Eeya, sorry o😊 This is how darkness often reacts when light is shined upon it.

Had you stuck to your original narrative, you may have gotten away with it. But like all amateur story tellers, you got carried away and began to spin yarns.

You see, your original story was more believable. You were telling us about your disappointing experiences at the hands of a particular branch of a particular Christian denomination. Then you turned it into a full blown attack on Christianity itself and you tried to tie your bad personal experiences to the teachings of Christ. That was were you miscalculated and goofed big time.

You've overplayed your hand and exposed your dawah strategy.

I think it's Muslims that usually say, you shouldn't blame entire Muslims because of what few miscreants are doing.

"Someone would just steal phone in the middle of the night and that is the end" this sentence was hilarious.
Aside that, I've always found the Christian faith a bit strange, I feel like these Christians have forgotten their true origin ya know? They're now moving like an organised cartel based on the stories I keep seeing on the internet and that documentary from BBC, although I don't trust BBC at all, they're a cartel too.
But when a religion stops being a safe place and instead becomes a place of pressure, bullying and private shaming and abuse, then it isn't a religion anymore, that's just the devil disguising under the umbrella of religion as per usual.
Islam is not without it's drama, as we have our own extremists and people who stubbornly misinterprete sacred teachings and refuse to see otherwise but I hope it treat you better than the place you left.

There's no relativity between MFM to Christianity, or even any denomination at all that faith and way of life Jesus Christ ushered us into.

You have issues with MFM and not Christianity, experience charlatans and not believers in Jesus Christ.

You yourself, your faith is questionable if you go about seeking miracles for your health ( my sincere sympathy) instead of seeking Jesus. Looking for wonders while ignoring the one called wonderful.

Why are you people giving him attention? Let him embrace Islam if truly he is a Christian, we don't care. How many people left Islam because of the numerous terrorists organizations we have around the world? Why should the action of few people make a true believer renounce Christianity? Can't he be a better Christian than them??

So so much
Dear friend, my name is Emmanuel.

I did not read the full text of your story. Nevertheless, I understand to a great extent about your experience.

I was a Deeperlife member and worker for years. I got genuinely born again in my teenage years at JSS 1 by the life style of a wonderful christian class mate of mine.

I then later attend a church called Bible Life Church , where I got a very sound christian discipleship in basically practical holy living.

Then later in my university I joined deeper life by Gods direction at that time , and the kind attitude of a wonderful coordinator of DLCF.

I do not attend any denomination of church as I type because of your similar experiences. Infact "church people " almost derailed my walk with God.
In addition, I later discovered the one-sided narratives of many holiness preaching denominations. I discovered many errors in their messages which , when I question those teachings or erroneous statements from the G.S or pastors , it looks to them that I am backslidden or attacking the church.

Now, that doesn't mean God is not with them. God is still working great things there and still saving and building souls there - howbeit, in a dogma they may realize later to correct.

I now attached or fellowship with Koinonia online, because I need a balanced christian
living .

Like I will always tell new convert , instead a congregation will make you leave God, leave that congregation and face serving God through the grace Jesus Christ provides in his death and resurrection. Pick up your Bible and study to fellowship with him. Do your normal quiet time, devoution and daily prayer at home.

You will be the greatest loser to join that religion. You will regret. But I pray it is not too late for you.

Solution : if you are truly born again , if you are not the one at fault , and if you have been walking faithfully with Jesus before these experiences. Please, go to him in prayer to direct you to another denomination where you can serve him well. But don't go to another denomination thinking you will not find similar kind of people in MFM in your new found church, just be well prepared to know how to deal with such people.

You can start first by joining koinonia global online via their YouTube or Facebook page.

Christianity offers free entry and free exit which is not available in Islam.

Islam offers free entry and exit is not free; you pay with your life.

The choice is yours to take.

I'm a pagan BTW.
