Do you support creation of state police, Yes or No?
What is the relevance of your question
Re: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by Parachoko: 4:10pm On Jun 23
nairalanda1:
And you think that the state police would be well funded by states who can't even build world class hospitals, schools and roads.

Even Lagos that took 2 decades to build two out of seven rail lines will suddenly have money to do state police.

Better prepare your farm for the herdsmen.

Laughs in state police
So who told you state Governments are not building World Class Hospitals, Schools and Roads?

Then that means you don't want a state police. Or even restructuring.

There are State Police does not mean Federal Police will seize to exist, some of their jobs will just be handled by the state police

Nice one from the President but I wish they were more coordinated in this important issue. Why is police submitting their own version, the house is passing their own version and now the presidency is submitting its own version. They are all in the same party/ administration, they should have harmonized all their points together and submitted one bill. Now the house will have to start afresh what they have already passed from first to third reading before heading to the states. With the heat of the political season, I doubt if they can make headway before year end.
To those running to join Army and others, wait and join your state police or dem go post you to north to go and sacrifice for one Nigeria.
But over 12 million Igbos are in the NORTH enjoying that "One Nigeria".

Is it only when it's time to EAT FROM OTHER REGIONS that you are One Nigeria, but not when it's time to defend the the country?

Nasty.

You have never made sense on this platform before and you always go about polluting the whole place with junks.

A bill can be sponsored by individual, institutions, legislators and the executive on any list in the constitution.

Your link only state what was proposed by the Senate that just passed the second reading and it's yet to be table for public hearing.

That doesn't stop the executive from making an input or submitting their on version of the creation of state police bill. You too as an individual can submit your bill on creation of state police. However, any bil presented by the executive always attract speedy attention and consideration.

All input will therefore be harmonised by the committee and in some cases, joint deliberation is considered to have a wider coverage and debate before passed by 2/3 majority and passed to the HoA and the President will eventually accent after these procedure have been fulfilled.

Stop throwing junk on very important discussion that affects the soul of our nation

You are running away from my question

I don't mind paying sane taxes, but most of you don't want to.

You want government to feed you because we are an oil rich country. Like Saudia.

You said the bill has been passed by the Senate and there's no need for the executive to present their input.

You are always polluting threads with your limited knowledge on topics you know nothing about but when you are lectured youll start blabbing

It's not about sending state policing bill to the Senate oh
What are the safeguards protecting state policing from political office holders influence?
If state governors are the ones fully and totally in charge of police in their state, that will be a recipe for disaster!
More like out of the fry pan and into the fire!

This man should resign and stop beating around the bush. Absence of state Police is not the reason for insecurity. Tinubu is just playing to the gallery. After school children were kidnapped in hundreds, civilian chased out of their land all tinibu could do was to send state Police bill to the Senate. See ineffectual president.

okay let's see if it will bring an end to the insecurity
Any serious State governor and government with the State Police, can bring an end to the insecurity within their domain.....

That's how it ought to be.

Those States in the North can get the services of Rtd. Major Al Mustapha on now best to eradicate the bandits and solve the bandit issue.

All other States know what to do given their own peculiar nature...
Re: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by IMPARTIAL: 5:18pm On Jun 23
I don't know how state police who are not trained for warfare would enter forest and be engaging bandits and terrorists.

Na governors and other powerful citizens of each state go enjoy them.

This is the best thing he has done so far....

I think it will be speedily passed by the senate and signed by the president into law....

Again, he should facilitate the ease of the state to acquire weapons for the police ...coz i know this will be another challenge...

But state police will be ineffective if local government autonomy is not implemented....

the lack of government presence in the local areas is the primary facilitator of the insecurity problems we face in this country...

let the local government be functional, secure and watch as their economies develop.......this will atleast discourage the youths from moving out in drove from these local environment.......
That is where Nigerians should call out those greedy governors.I swear Tinubu is not our problems but governors. They are the one frustrating LG autonomy!
You will, months after state police bill us passed non of them will have implemented it
