When I was in Junior Secondary School in the early 2000's I last saw classrooms like this in Lagos. Fashola's administration and subsequent governments in Lagos revolutionized the public school system and invested a whole lot in remodeling classrooms. They also provided chairs and desk. (Tinubu's government started it with the Millenium schools, but the reach was quite limited)

I remember JSS1 that time, parents were advised to get carpenters to make chairs with lockers for their kids which they would use to sit in class. Those students whose parents couldn't afford to get them chairs either sit on a stone on the floor like these kids or place a plank between two chairs belonging to their friends to form a makeshift chair.

Nigeria is not ripe for state police. Governors will abuse it to the extent people will start begging to have the current structure back. Time will reveal everything.

Let their be legal framework or federal laws that guides it Incase of misuse or some kind of oppressions.

Let the each state handles it's security and reduces dependent on federal government for total protections of lives and properties.

Police, as an institution, is not the only institution with sole provision of maintaining law and protections of lives. We have other force that also share the responsibilities that federal government still controls.

With this, we can properly hold these morons in the state responsible to some certain degree.

It's obvious federal policing has failed and we are not fools to keep holding to it while expecting different outcome. Let's embrace the change and see the workability of it.
