No sir, i vehemently disagree. Youth and kids copy what they see online. I dont see anything out of place here than stupid youth celebrating within the limited means and exposure they have. We have waaaaaay bigger problems than a bunch of kids celebrating that they are done with high school.

Did they damage property? Did they steal? Okay - I can see the picture of a guy cupping the breasts of some girl. There is nothing in our law as a people that says that is illegal. Indecent, yes, but illegal, no. We dont live in a theocratic society like Saudi or Iran where all of this is prohibited. So, this school or the government better think twice and release these results.

The more you think about this, the less sense it makes. What about decent students that finished their exams and went straight home? You cannot punish everyone because some people danced after exams. its not done.

Let the Ondo government focus on staff salaries and banditry that is killing people, not this non-issue.

if universities do it why can't secondary schools? Learning and character. Anybody can pass out but that certificate should not be for everybody. These kids need to know the concept of responsibility. If they're old enough to press breast and join cult, then they should know that education is a combination of learning and character.

You've made a solid point here but from another angle of perspective,don't you think these little distraction disguised as just immorality we tends to look away from birth more serious harm to the society? The leaders don't just wake up and become evil overnight,but their parents ignoring little things that matters let them grow up as irresponsible and wicked adults and now,the whole country is suffering for it, falling into decay and ruins. If we parents give our kids good upbringing,they won't become a menace to the society,we wouldn't even be here discussing about boko haram,bandits and the likes but almajiri system in the north,we looked away from just like this immoral act here turn to give birth to terrorism as those kids grew up to become vulnerable. What kind of slowpoke are you! Where is it stated that ALL results will be withheld? Or that innocent students will be censured together with the erring ones?

As for those posting what can only be described as arrant nonsense borne of pure ignorance and sheer personal decadence, the State Government can withhold the results of the erring students for gross misconduct for as long as the State stipulates, or until a competent court of law rules otherwise. By the time the said students and their parents go back and forth for months trying to reverse the decision by pleading or seeking legal intervention in court, they will have learned their lesson the hard way.

Don't underestimate the power a state ministry of education can wield when it comes to implementation of policies in its jurisdiction.

For those ignoramuses, the final results of and certificates for WASSCE for public schools are issued by the respective schools including private secondary schools.

Let's make it clearer.

While candidates can print their temporary results online (which may be valid enough for admission purposes temporarily), they can only get their statements of results from their schools, which double as their examination centres. Their certificates, if their results are good enough for one, will be issued by the WAEC but released into the custody of their schools for onward collection.

So, they are still at the mercy of not only the State Government but the school they foolishly embarrassed and officials they have got into trouble with their condemnable misconduct.

Yes, the Government may not have the power to cancel their results, but it has the mechanisms and instruments of power, including testimonials, to ensure those mannerless students don't go scot-free.

There should be no excuse for displaying your moral decadence on social media while associating yourself with your school uniform with a school that does not promote immorality. Officials may be held accountable, but those irresponsible students will pay the consequences one way or the other. Only time will tell but we won't be seeing that on social media.
