Dangote Refinery Reduces Fuel Price To ₦1125/litre by politicoNG(op): 5:46pm On Jun 25
Dangote Petrochemical Refinery has again announced reduction in its gantry petrol price nationwide to N1,125 per litre from N1,175 per litre.

The development was contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson of Dangote Group, Anthony Chijiena, on Thursday, June 25.

“It is true our petrol gantry price was reduced by N50 per litre,” Chijiena stated.

Similarly, the coastal petrol supply price of Dangote Refinery decreased from N1,495,215 per metric tonne to N1,428,165 per metric tonne.

The development comes as crude oil prices dropped significantly to $69 and $73 per barrel, the same rates as pre-Middle East crisis times.

The pattern is becoming hard to ignore: prices move up quickly with market shocks, yet relief downward tends to arrive slowly and with layered explanations, crude benchmarks, logistics adjustments, and “coastal parity” revisions, rather than a clear, transparent formula the public can track in real time.

In a deregulated environment, that kind of opacity matters. When one dominant supplier effectively sets the tone for national pricing, it stops being a simple market response and starts resembling price leadership without meaningful checks.

Subsidy removal was meant to eliminate distortions, not replace them with unaccountable volatility. Energy pricing in a country this dependent shouldn’t hinge on unilateral adjustments communicated after the fact. Even without subsidies, the state still has a duty to enforce transparent pricing frameworks, publish cost build-ups, and ensure competition actually exists in practice, not just on paper.

Silence from regulators only deepens the perception that oversight has been outsourced, while citizens absorb every swing at the pump.

The most unfortunate part of it is that Dangote prices is quite different from our fuel stations prices nationwide

Tinubu has nothing to offer

If Buhari and Tinubu were not allowed to rule Nigeria, most of the the people would have thought that we missed Great leaders that would have turned things around

The joy of it all is that we have seen the best the sophisticated South westerners can offer

Tinubu can bring back subsidy, if he wants, but that means that we got to take half the budget to pay for it. Guess how the money would be replaced?

Loans.

We should have ignored Tinubu in 2012. Period

As if the same price increase didn't happen elsewhere, even in oil producing nations

Anyway we still blame Tinubu, he is partly responsible for the bad economy that made the price hike harsher. If not fully responsible.

How much did tinubu meet price of fuel?
Re: Dangote Refinery Reduces Fuel Price To ₦1125/litre by CharleyBright(m): 6:21pm On Jun 25
And the evil marketers are still selling about N1300 and ripping off customers.
Nigerians are our own problems.

Since price dropped in international market, fuel stations have refused to bring down pump prices, and they are claiming they need to sell off old stocks. Let the prices go up now, they will increase immediately now minding it is old stocks.

This rubbish is what you get when there are no price regulatory bodies.
Nigerians are as evil as their leaders.
