Was January 1966 Nzeogwu led coup the first and last coup in Nigeria? It was a military affair which happened in virtually all African countries at that time and era as military guys tried to take control of their country's leadership due to corruption rocking the newly inaugurated indigenous civilian governments that took over from colonial masters. So it was more of a Pan-African disease at that time yet the rest of Nigerians ganged up against Igbos and even after revenging within the military hierarchy where they ought to have stopped, they went further to start punishing innocent, vulnerable Igbos scattered in the North for crimes they never committed nor had a hand in.
