I earn 1day and a half per month. So I actually travelled 3 months after I arrived my leave was 4 days I think . Used benefit of 2 weekends plus 1 fed holiday.

I think I've only ever tried 2 weeks in Nigeria once. I go every year and keep my itinerary small. Anyone I don't see I'll see on the next trip

Was your Dad a citizen when he petitioned for you or he was a permanent resident ?
What's your Priority Date

The RFE you got was it at USCIS stage or NVC

I tried last year, it was the payment organization who didn't let me finish
Innovate or something like that. They couldn't confirm my payment so I travelled like that

I don’t know much about it. But he has been on the filing since 2022/23. I wasn’t 21 then. When he filed he is a green card holder he is now a us citizen. The RFE is from uscis
I-130 i have our uscis number with me

you go to Nigeria every year? With the shege this country has shown me. If i leave for any country i wont step my foot here

Yes, you can travel with expired passport but you must return with new one. So i renewed in Nigeria

Your petition is yet to be approved. Qhen it is then your priority date would be

Once your petiton is approved youd fall under immediate relatives so no need for dates just waiting for embassy to schedule your interview

I think the beauty of traveling Abroad is being able to visit Nigeria whenever you want... I mean what's stopping you from visiting friends and family if your immigration status allows you to and you have the money for flight ticket..

One of two of my friends that came around the same time as me last year has already visited Nigeria in less than a year here, and the other one is planning on going this August.

Once your Dad became a citizen it's like they asked for documents proving the relationship.
Your Dad needs to provide that.
RFE means request for evidence.

Immediate relative category is for citizens filing for their spouse children under 21 and parents.
That's where your petition is right now, the evidence they require from your Dad is to move you from. f2A (children under 21 of green card holders) to the IR category.

The advantage is that the IR has a much much shorter time once the petition is approved.

Great!

Due to the Fed district court judgement on the pause for applications inside US from travel ban countries and including immigrant visas at consulate. USCIS has confirmed it will comply at the same USCIS has filed an appeal.

What this means is that pending the appeal the situation returns to how it was before the pause.

So if you recently had your immigrant interview please keep checking your emails and contact Lagos IIV on when you can bring your passports

It's still the same.... until the ban/pause is lifted visa cannot be issued...

Did my interview early June and I was told the same by the CO....... Guess we have to wait till the pause is lifted.. the wait is tiring though 😴

Contact them with your case number in the email subject line. Based on the Fed District Court judgement on June 5th that covers nationals from 39 banned countries who are waiting for decisions on their green card. Ask them what the next steps are for you



Nationals of Nigeria with green card applications are moving ahead here in the US. Pause has been lifted.

Good afternoon everyone, interestingly, despite all that is going on, I got approvals for my wife and 3 kids. I filled all separately but the approvals came in yesterday. PD Dec 2022, and 2024 . I and looking forward to the next stage and hopefully the ban is lifted soon.

Many are still waiting for pause to be lifted
