In this age of the drone, now officially kicked off by the tech gurus of Nigeria's Ogun and Lagos State police commands who recently executed an audacious and unprecedented kidnap rescue operation that took place within hours of the first alarm being raised by distress phone calls to law enforcement, the following are the THREE steps that are guaranteed to end all ransom kidnap abductions within a matter of hours. 1. The newly-formed Nigerian State police or regional DSS should publish emergency Phone Tracing Hotline numbers that should be contacted IMMEDIATELY by any person who receives a telephoned ransom phone call that is placed using the handset belonging to a relative or acquaintance. 2. Once the police or DSS are supplied with any phone number that has moments earlier been used to place a kidnap ransom demand, the precise geographical location from where that ransom phone call was placed, can be determined with tremendous accuracy by the police, who can then forward those GPS coordinates to the operators of quick response drones that can then be launched to loiter above the area where that phone was used, peering down through the tree canopy with body-heat-sensing cameras that will locate all people who are concealed under any tree canopy shrouding the area where that ransom phone call was made. 3. Special forces can be flown by helicopter into close proximity of the abductees and kidnappers' location, to drop well-armed officers at sufficient distance from the target zone to remain undiscovered until it is too late. While those special forces position themselves in ambush formations along all possible escape routes, the main police attack force can be trucked into the area to commence a concentrated direct frontal attack on the kidnappers, while being guided by the special forces already hiding close to the targets, AND by the loitering drone above. To the more jaded readers of this forum who are prone to skepticism, the above three steps might seem unattainable by the Nigerian law enforcement community. To those doubters, the recent rescue of five kidnap victims beside the Benin to Shagamu Expressway in Ogun State within hours of their initial abduction, is a textbook example of how steps 1 , 2 and 3 above can he put into action. To the public at large, your very FIRST step if ever you receive a kidnap ransom demand phone call, is to contact the police and supply the phone number that was used to contact you with that ransom demand. This can be done even BEFORE a dedicated phone tracing number is ever published by law enforcement. With that, repose your trust in the forces of the newly constituted State Police, to bring your loved ones home safely after neutralizing the bad guys, who will never know what hit them. |

What you have posted is not new info.
The police force knows all those. The problem has always been incompetence. |

Jakumo:Nice analogy bro! But you have to end kidnapping by not negotiating whatsoever, anyone caught negotiating with them outside of any govt sanction communication line should be treated as a felon.......engage with maximum firce when surrounded, might sound brutal because there would be collateral damage but govt can rather pay the family of the victims compensation than pay ransom to the bandits......I tell you kidnapping will end within a month. |

The boys who do the main kidnapping, hide them inside the bush don't have money to start the business, meaning they are mostly sponsored by some big evil men Those should be the targets of the security operatives. Arresting a well known person behind kidnapping will send some messages to his colleagues in the business. Cut the root of evil once and for all We have all been blaming Fulani herdsmen for clashes with farmers in the Southern regions. The question the majority of the Southerners are missing is , whose cows are those Fulani herdsmen protecting in any part of the Southern regions ( In majority) |

Lithiumite:If I were ever to find myself in Nigeria under the gun of kidnappers, I would be glad to hear the eruption of a major firefight very soon after the abduction incident, because I would much rather die as collateral damage than to be tortured to death or beheaded by demons. Like you say, there should be NO further negotiation with terrorists by the soon-to-be formed Nigeria State Police Force. The police should never stray from the standard procedure of tracing any phones used to call relatives with ransom demands, as a prelude to launching a ferocious attack that will liquefy any person seen with a gun in the target area. |

helinues:Very true. The sponsors of kidnapping gangs deserve to face the death penalty after a fair trial. That same death penalty should also be applied to any FOREIGN nationals who arm Islamist terror gangs to depopulate areas where illegal mining operations exist, throughout Nigeria. |

helinues:Zero tolerance for all who arm, finance or perpetrate terror activities in Nigeria is indeed the way to go. Such people should be tried, convicted and removed from the mortal realm in rapid succession. When this new regime comes into effect under Nigeria's new State Police structure, the bad actors will know they have become an endangered species very quickly. Whether they then choose to die by police gunfire, or scurry back to the Futa Djallon Highlands in Guinea, will be up to them. |

Jakumo:You think the DSS and Police don't know the exact location of every Fulani kidnappers den? The issue isn't locating where the hostages are held. It is how to release them unharmed from their crazed and heavily armed kidnappers who will not hesitate to kill all hostages if they sense an impending raid on their location. The reason why both Fulani and BH/ISWAP continuously kidnap people is to use them as human shields to prevent the Nigerian air force from bombing their locations. The hostages serve one critical purposes above all which is to provide a human shield . |
