Even that will not work. Don't you guys get it? Northern leaders at all levels (military, political, religious , cultural etc) are supporters and affiliates of bandits and terrorists.

The problem is ideological. Banditry and terrorism only ends when Northerners want it to. Many Northerners support banditry and terrorism tacitly or overtly meaning there is no end in sight.

If mercenaries neutralise all bandits today, won't more rise through the Almajiri recruiting system the likes of Atiku should dedicate themselves to ending yet they don't?

The way the North wishes to live will always feed terrorism and Banditry.

A critical-thinking South will understand that the best that can be achieved is for Southerners to gain the power to protect themselves and avoid the North.

He isn't lying is he? The Nigerian army needs to explain who withdrew soldiers from the school Boko Haram attacked and kidnapped students in Borno state yesterday. Few minutes after the soldiers left, Boko Haram stormed the school.
The army is compromised. We can keep pretending it isn't.

I find it equally suspicious that close to a week after the audio of Kachalla's call was leaked, the Nigerian army appears tongue tied. They can't deny evidence of their complicity at this point. This is the same army that a stranded commander of an overrun unit was alive but as soon as he called for rescue, his location was immediately communicated to Boko Haram terrorists and he was located and brutally executed. This was last year. How long do we keep denying the obvious?

When it is in place, serious States and people can use it to make themselves safe. That is the best Nigeria can achieve because , as this bandit brags, the entire North , to include our armed forces personnel, is wedded to terrorism and banditry.

The best the rest of us can do is have the right to protect ourselves. State policing, for example, will mean the commisioner of every State police force can issue gun licence to responsible Nigerians whereas such has being suspended by the federal police force for years now.

I remember trying to apply for a gun licence when I returned to Nigeria a few years ago to note the suspension by the IGP of police yet illiterate Fulani herders and bandits are carrying AK47 up and down terrorising everyone. How is that fair?

Nigeria simply needs to be a land of more equity, justice and fairness. That is what Tinubu is trying to achieve.
