If ECOWAS and African Union were anything useful. The South African government should actually be made to pay at current market value, every penny the foreigners have been made to abandon. |

MTN and DSTV as part of their social responsibility should shoulder the cost, they can deduct it from the tax they are remitting to SA govt. I dont know if what I wrote is right. But the Afrophobia (hatred) from black south African to their fellow African calls for a tougher retaliatory gesture. |

ekineme:I think the consequences of their actions is etched into the mind of africans, no one would forget. Cause at the back of every african mind, when they see a south african they know not to trust or be close with cause this person hates me. The stigma would be brutal. |

The South African govt does not owe you anything.. the South African citizen made it clear they do not want illegal migrant in their country, it is not the SA government that chased illegal migrant. A govt can not disobey it citizen else it be ousted. Stephen0mozzy: |

Tenses:Who is going to sanction them? You? What would SA be sanctioned for? For telling ILLEGAL immigrants to leave? Or protecting their country from bandits and criminals? Why has SA not been sanctioned already? Why? |

whitebeard:And luckily, they are easily identifiable. Canada dumped them out of the World Cup. Ireland deported 29 South Africans, last week. Other Countries are considering tougher Action against them too. African Leaders must table their matter at the AFRICAN UNION MEETING and Sanctions should be issued against South Africa. Ban all their Exports, Sanction their Companies all over Africa. Drag their President before the United nations, for not upholding UN Charters. Pressure the US to sanction them (I am sure trump will be too happy to do so). Isolate them the way the Apartheid Government was isolated, Boycott whatever they Host. Boycott their Products, their Artists, Events, etc The Punishment must be TOTAL, to send a strong message that Africa will not tolerate such beastly behaviors. |

MTNnews:That means you guys are thieves, cus you want to inherit what doesn't belong to you. If I am a visitor in your house and I overstayed my welcome, when you want me out, won't I take my properties and belongings along. Thieves is what you all SA clamorouing for foreigners evacuation are. |

So the nigerian population in SA is up to 500k? That's the entire population of small african countries like cape verde and sao tome and principe, south africans really supposed to be scared with such a huge population of nigerians in their country but should have found a more civilised way to go about it instead of looting the shops of innocent law abiding nigerians I honestly don't even think the south african govt will agree to pay any compensation to any nigerian that lost their properties to these protests if they do their huge xenophobic population will definitely vote them out of govt. |

That is a good move. While waiting for compensation from SA government, Nigeria should help the returnees with resettlement packages. |

MTNnews:It's funny you are saying illegal migrants. It's like you haven't been watching the videos the south African vagabonds are making telling people with legal documents that they don't care about the documents. That they should go back to their country and establish the business. It's not about illegal migrants man, it's pure hatred. |

Sirianese:STFU! ![]() It is Tribalists like you who cause division among Nigerians, that give liver to outsiders to rubbish the same people you think you are siding with. Even if you hate Abike because of her Tribe, commonsense should tell you that this is not the time to espouse divisions among Nigerians, whether Igbo or Yoruba. What we need right now, is a united Front against a common Enemy (South Africa), because there are Yorubas and Igbos among the Nigerians being assaulted by South Africans. When we are done with the common Enemy, you can then come back and continue your usual Tribal rantings. |

smallsmall:Nigerians are easily identified too and what are you going to do if you identify a south african? Attack him or her? Dey play! All these you mentioned against SA for what? For telling illegal immigrants and criminals who are destroying their country to leave? there are many nigerians who still live in SA this morning and nothing happened to them and oh! Canada are deporting nigerians, pakistanis and indians too..Maybe nigerians should come together and we fix our country, hold our leaders accountable, vote in the right people, fix the tribalism in our country. SAns did the right thing for their country at least they are united in what they did. Unlike we nigerians. |

Starcrest1:It is more than hatred. It is a bunch of lazy drunkards wanting to reap where they have not sowed. They simply want to usurp the thriving Business of Foreigners, whether Legal or Illegal. Business that they dont have the sense and capacity to run and will liquidate within a few Weeks. Most good things and Business in South Africa are owned by the White South Africans, their black counterparts are into crime, Drugs and very lazy |
| Re: Nigeria Moves to Protect Investments Abandoned by Returning Citizens From South by Starcrest1: 7:57am On Jul 01 |
smallsmall:Exactly the point. I hate the fact that they are now trying to claim that they are only chasing illegal migrants away which is false. Let it be on record that they are chasing away both legal and illegal migrants for posterity. |

There is no need crying and wailing let's fix our country, fix the corruption, tribalisms, bad governance, insecurities, terrorisms, hold our leaders to accountable and vote in the right people who would not loot our resources. Maybe in the end south africans would want to migrate to nigeria. Let's stop running away from our country south africa is not better than nigeria. |
| Re: Nigeria Moves to Protect Investments Abandoned by Returning Citizens From South by smallsmall: 8:00am On Jul 01 |
LordLicifer:Maybe you dont have a TV otherwise, you would have watched these Animals telling Legal and Fully Documented Immigrant Business owners that: We dont care that you are here legally, we just want your Business to be handed over to us. I do not disagree about the need to fix Nigeria but you can be crying, and still be seeing at the same time. Just because we need to fix Nigeria, does not mean we should keep quiet and let others who have benefitted from the generosity of the same Nigerians in the past, treat them inhumanely. Again, I agree that we need to come together to fix Nigeria, and we will fix Nigeria, hoping you are not even one of those People who support "bad Leadership and clueless governance in Nigeria. |
