Nigerian Army Depot, Osogbo was created in May 2025 to train new recruits. Students allege that soldiers from the depot invaded their hostel on Monday, beat up male students, sexually assaulted female students and stole phones.

RE: APPEAL FOR CALM AND COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE REGARDING ALLEGATIONS BY NANS SOUTHWEST ZONE

The Commandant, Depot Nigerian Army, Osogbo, has noted with concern the press release by the National Association of Nigerian Students, Southwest Zone D, regarding alleged misconduct by some army personnel. The Depot wishes to reiterate that the Nigerian Army exists to protect all citizens, especially the youth, who are the future of the nation. Any conduct that falls short of that mandate is unacceptable. No student or law – abiding citizen should ever feel unsafe or be subjected to harassment, intimidation or assault by those entrusted with the security of lives and property.

In line with military regulations and the values of the Nigerian Army, the Commandant has ordered an investigation to ascertain the facts of the incident and bring perpetrators to justice. The NANS Southwest coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, is kindly requested to make available all evidence and witness statements to enable a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Depot Nigerian Army Osogbo remains committed to ensuring that its personnel are held to the highest standards at all times. The alleged actions of the personnel do not reflect the training and character development of recruits at the Depot. We therefore give our firm assurance that any personnel found guilty will face the full weight of military law. The Commandant is ready to meet with the NANS leadership at the earliest convenience to agree on the way forward.

Big shame on DSS. They have always been failing Nigeria and Nigerians.

It's a big shame now that no backgrounds check on all officers. They just allowed rogues and criminals into the Nigeria Army.

The last time I saw some soldiers smoking Indian hemp while driving around in their vehicle. All of them look like drug addicts in their camo.

Imagine officers going into school hostels to rob students.

Shame soldiers are attacking students wearing camouflage while they go to meetings with terrorist and bandits who are publicly seen wearing full army regalia.a

That's what you get when recruitment process into the Army and police force is dog shyte.
I bet you, those stupid new recruits are likely cultists, or the favoured children of your politicians - 'repentant bandits/terrorists'

This is just the beginning, what do you expect when you recruit terrorist into your soldier
Re: Soldiers VS Uniosun Students: Army Appeals For Calm, Promises Justice by osuofia2(m): 9:12am On Jul 01
Once they sight Boko haram or Fula bandits they take cover and run for their lives, only good at molesting civilians,
Soldiers have no business in mingling with civil affairs, they should go back to their fkinnnn barracks

This is because we have no standard operating procedure in our forces..... Unless there is a 100% facts/ evidence of terrorism no uniform men is supposed to bust into your apartment unannounced or randomly.... Bt here anything goes

The clowns just want to rape female students. But can't fight bokoharam.
The guilty soldiers should be castrated.
Some of these soldiers that behave like terrorists.
Re: Soldiers VS Uniosun Students: Army Appeals For Calm, Promises Justice by Image123(m): 9:17am On Jul 01
What is easy to pick from here is that even soldiers can be withstood BECAUSE they have a base and location. Bandits don't, which makes it unconventional. A state police can deploy more people to where they think they are needed to solve insecutity without bureaucracy from federal level and you know or should know your state where you grew up in better than some transferred federal police and military.
Can't wait oh, make dem do fast.

You're the actual coward here that thinks one should not question government or its agencies once you support them. Government and democracy is not the cultism you guys practice with that fraud candidate.

How low has the Nigerian Army sunk!

A once respected organization has gradually slided into ignominy.

When you see the calibre of people that are being recruited into the military, you self go know sey water don pass garri. Thugs, vagabonds, touts, cultists, etc.

I almost choked on laughter when I heard one Army recruit that I know is a cultist. I was like "Azzz how nau?"

The other day in Abuja, it was soldiers that invaded a civilian populated estate and killed someone in the process. Now, it's female hostel.

Every agency under Tinubu has become a law breaking rather than a law abiding one. What does anyone expect? When the head is rotten...

2027 is almost here. If una like, make una collect 15K and vote rubbish again...

These animals need not only to be sacked immediately, but also prosecuted and jailed. But we are in zoo where nothing will happen, after 2 weeks when the emotions have calmed down, they would post those animals to other formations and life continues.

I still don't see different between them and bandits, maybe uniforms they put on.

These are just pockets of evils happening in other regions but guess how south westerners have always reacted to those who cried out against such evils? Are South Westerners becoming BITTER PEOPLE too?

Time shall tell. The evil you nurture and support in your neighbour's house shall someday come to feast in your own house.

Politicians' favoured children don't enter as recruits to become privates.

They go to NDA and enter the Army as Officers.

These ones are just riffraff and former terrorists.
