Ddeliverer007:First & foremost, do you deserve the stable electricity?, from your post it is quite obvious that you don’t deserve it. Coastal road or stable electricity indeed, at your discretion go and meet your Governor & local government if u want stable electricity, let them provide the infrastructure. |

Ddeliverer007:None firstly we can’t afford either and borrowing to build either is stupidity There is nothing we are doing today that we can do if we have 24/7 light or have road wide and smooth runing from Lagos to calabar Nigerians really don’t understand basic developmental economics |

Ddeliverer007:States now have the power to generate and distribute electricity within their states. Ask Otti to stop wasting money in shoddy over priced single lane roads and to invest in a modular gas plant. |
| Re: Electricity Or Costal Road : Pick One! by DomPerignon: 4:46pm On Jul 01 |
Ddeliverer007:Then ask your state governor to invest in energy generation. States like Akwa Ibom, Rivers , Delta , Lagos , Ogun and Bayelsa are already drawing up plans to start their own GENCOs to produce and distribute electricity within their states without sending it to the national grid . Even Sokoto is exploring Wind mills and Solar farms. Dey there dey wait for daddy FG to come give you light. |

DomPerignon:The centralized government they benefit mostly from is the major reason behind their frustrated anger. It's just that they can't say it. They are pissed off that Tinubu is restructuring the country |

Ddeliverer007:Your Giringori that said he will fix what he doesn't understand and will only provide solutions to it if he gets into office Nah dat kind foolishness you want us to support and vote for ? Anyways, electricity generation is no more on the exclusive list. Your governor should use the bountiful federal allocations he is getting to invest in power generation or at least partner with foreign investors to build and operate a power plant that can service your state and sell the excess to the national grid . Power generation is now big business which other states in the south are now finalizing with investors . Dey there dey wait for FG to come give you light. |

Ttalk:This is what I have been saying for years here that the SE is the biggest beneficiary to the centrist system . Tinubu is seen as a threat to that feeding bottle and that's why they are all against him. Their Obi they claim to be a reformist is nothing but a Conformist who wants to ensure that 1999 centrist oriented constitution is never tampered with. Even Solodu warned them in Anambra that the state has nothing meaningful outside Federal allocations that are not enough to run the state and that the people of Anambra should begin to pay taxes to which they insulted him. Speaking of taxes , this is why they were all up for war against Tinubu's tax based revenue drive. They just want to be fed by others and still have the guts to say Nigeria is holding them down when it is Nigeria that is keeping them from starving. |

Go and ask your state governor for stable electricity. States have been given power to generate their own electricity |

Ddeliverer007:Coastal road 1. Electricity has been privatised since 2013 2. Government borrowing for the coastal road amounts to ₦15 trillion to be spent over several years. 3. According to the experts, we need ₦15 trillion or more annually for at least 5-10 years to fix electricity. For those on the grid right now. Expanding it to everyone costs more. 4. The best way government can improve electricity is by allowing the discos charge cost reflective tarrifs. For all bands , not band A 5. Here is why government should charge cost reflective tarrifs IN April, all DISCOS made, in total, ₦201 billion For GENCOS to pay for all the gas they need for the same month, they would need to spend about ₦195 billion. If DISCOS gave the gencos ₦195 billion, that leaves ₦6 billion . That is supposed to take care of salaries, wages, pensions, maintenance costs, etc. For discos, gencos and the TCN. Naturally that is not enough A cost reflective tarrif fully enforced could lead to revenues of over ₦1 trillon monthly, PLUS...more investment in the trillions of naira. But as you will tell me, you don't like the idea That means that government borrows, for the next ten years, at least ₦150 or more trillion naira for fixing of power. That has hefty implications for our national debt, and remember, that money only guarantees light for the people on the grid today, not for everyone. I hear solar...yes. To do solar for all the villages in nigeria would cost ₦360 trillion For every village in nigeria to have a solar grid that connects every house to light. Since you don't want cost reflective tarrifs and taxes, and since our income from oil before looting cannot reach 100 trillion naira, and our budgets have been less than 60 trillion.....that means more borrowing. So, at the end, borrowing to fix power could reach somewhere around 500 or more trillion naira. Which has to be paid back with interest Compare that to the coastal road. Good morning And fck tinubu, I dey vote for Obi. I also try to be realistic in my life sometimes. |
