prophetfire:And so what? How has the stuff you wrote there answered my question? Did they all retire at once? Were they fired? Why would a school suddenly need all those people? It's a valid question. You're talking GenZ. |

Onegai:Columbia university no be beans. At least a degree holder from a reputable institution supposed to be paid more if he/she knows the job. How much would you have wanted? Also, what class and what subject were you teaching and how many times a week? What are your qualifications like? Above 250k should be okay. I taught mathematics and computer science from JSS1 to DS2, plus coaching lessons for exam classes. Monday to Thursday. I have an M.Sc in IT. |

TheStoriesOfMan:Are you in Lagos? What was your success rate for kids? |

Onegai:No, i don't stay in Lagos. The students could understand basic subject concepts, how they are related and how they function in real-life situations. Only few struggle in mathematics. The challenges were inadequate monitoring of the parents on their children and the addiction of smartphones. |

TheStoriesOfMan:(I wish I could send a voice note) If you want that salary tou mentioned, you have to be able to give value above that salary. (Nigerians don't compensate well for any job). Basically, your worth has to be N500,000/month to get a salary of N250,000-N300,000/month teaching. How can you do this? Well, every private school is always looking for an edge. "What do we sell to parents that will make them come to us, rather than go to the schools down the road?" And that's where you come in: Don't just be a Math Teacher, offer something more than that. If you want more info, pay me for a Zoom consult 😎 ✌🏾 |

Onegai:I left teaching earlier this year to start-up a business. I just pray the OP gets a good opportunity. |
