Throwback: See 1988 Article About Homosexual Prostitutes In Kano In the Sabon-Gari area of Kano are four streets: Abadie, Freetown, Santgiwa and Weatherhead. Apart from Weatherhead which is about 600 metres away, the three other streets are adjacent to each other. I have so many questions after reading this article. For example, what do the two quoted statements below actually mean? some pay ₦100.00 — ₦400.00 a night since they know the gain in form of business yields immediately one does it with a man who intends to use one's sperm-duct for his business to flourish, one ceases to be a man againI've also heard that the Hisbah who enforce Sharia law typically target bars and restaurants in these areas of Kano for selling alcohol, but rather curiously they have a habit of leaving these dan daudus alone. How true is this? |

This was my biggest cultural shock in the north Funny thing they see it as normal and different from being gay Can’t explain the idea it’s weird sha I have no problem with anyone being gay but don’t involve underage that’s just my issue Everyone deserve to be loved and love who they want as long as. It’s mutual and both are adults |

…and somehow they’ll look at men from other regions as infidels. Islam tolerates such as well as our indigenous culture. Noise regarding attacks on gays started in 2015 — all for political benefit. Since Jonathan left office, attack a homosexual, let he/she report you. What the police will do with you will remain between you and God. |

The very Day I see a Male Dog knacking another Male Dog.... Then I will start to understand a Man sleeping with another Man... Any Man that is sleeping with another Man is lesser than a Goat or a Dog... Goat and Dog get sense pass that person... |

meobizy:Okay, let's start with the history of Nigeria and the gays The first time the gay thing entered Nigerian discourse was the 1998 Lambeth conference of the Anglican church where there were issues between developed and developing countries over gay issues. It got worse in 2003, when a gay bishop was chosen in the American anglican church...and then Obama travelled to Africa in 2012 and was lecturing the Senegal president in 2012 about gay rights..and the Senegal president told him no. It got more intense, as most African coutnries began passing laws against gay rights from 2013-14. The GEJ government even passed a law which was voted for unaminously in the National Assembly...against Gay marriage (Modifed..about the above law, there were moves to prevent it from being passed. QUiet moves, until one gay rights activist from the UK..very prominent, landed and began shouting up and down that Nigeria was a bad nation for hating gays. That scattered the quiet moves...) Gay things did not play much of a role in 2015. Though both sides accused the other of being pro-gay. As for dandauras...that it happens does not mean it is tolerated or wanted. They operate at night, not in the day. |

meobizy:Islam doesn't support homosexuality. That's just the injustice done by the Northerners. Islam is free of their injustice. Islam prescribes a very harsh punishment for whoever is caught in the act. |

madridguy:It predates the colonial times, heck it even goes back to long before Islam came to Kano. (Keep in mind that I am discussing history, I am not here to attack anybody's tribe or religion). A lot of tribes in subsaharan Africa did do 'a bit of gay'. It does not mean it was acceptable...but it happened.(and it wasn't acceptable in the vast majority of tribes) If anything, the colonial masters brought in laws that codified homo behaviour as criminal activity...our current law is descended from English laws against 'sodo..my' in the 19th century. |

When you try your best to stop a habit ,instead of seeking external help, you accept the habit. In a bid to justify the habit, you start defending it and if you are wealthy, you join humongous funds with your fellow comrades in the act to propagate this habit through schools, films and media outlets. You also install your elements in political positions in order to drive your shameless agenda. You even go to the point of demanding a day for such gathering and to make matters worse, you decide to insert it into sports esp soccer,in a bid to shove it down the throat of everyone! That's the summary of LGBTQIA+ |
