A cluelessly dumb hypocrite politician promises to build PHCs despite having Anambra doctors go on strike when he was governor?

Is he vying to be a LGA chairman, since they are the ones responsible for PHCs huh

leavegoodbehind:
STATUTORY FUNCTIONS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 provides in the Fourth Schedule the main functions of Local Governments in Nigeria as follows: –

(a)the consideration and the making of recommendations to a State Commission on Economic Planning or any similar body on:
(i) the economic development of the State, particularly in so far as the areas of authority of the Council and of the State are affected, and
(ii) proposals made by the said Commission or body;
(b) collection of rates, radio and television licences;
(c) establishment and maintenance of cemeteries, burial grounds and homes for the destitute or infirm;
(d) licensing of bicycles, trucks (other than mechanically-propelled trucks), canoes, wheel barrows and carts;
(e) establishment, maintenance and regulation of slaughter houses, slaughter slabs, markets, motor parks and public conveniences;
(f) construction and maintenance of roads, streets, street lightings, drains and other public highways, parks, gardens, open spaces, or such public facilities as maybe prescribed from time to time by the House of Assembly of a State;
(g) naming of roads and streets, and numbering of houses;
(h) provision and maintenance of public conveniences, sewage and refuse disposal;
(i) registration of all births, deaths and marriages;
(i) out-door advertising and hoarding;
(ii) movement and keeping of pets of all descriptions;
(iii) shops and kiosks;
(iv) restaurants, bakeries and other places for sale of food to the public,
(v) laundries, and
(vi) licensing, regulation and control of the sale of liquor.

Apart from these exclusive functions, the function of Local Governments shall include participation of such Councils in the government of a state as respects the following matters:
(a) the provision and maintenance of primary, adult and vocational education;
(b) the development of agriculture and natural resources other than the exploitation of minerals;
(c) the provision and maintenance of health services; and
(d) such other functions as may be conferred on a local Government Council by the House of Assembly of the State.

As provided for in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Local Governments have functions and responsibilities assigned.
Some of these functions are performed exclusively by the Local Government like the maintenance of cemeteries, markets and motor parks. On the other hand, some other functions and responsibilities are performed concurrently with the State Government. Among these concurrent functions are primary education, agriculture, health and any other functions that may be conferred on Local Government by the House of Assembly of the State.

As can be seen, these various functions and responsibilities of Local Governments are quite enormous and demanding. The tragedy of the situation is that Local Governments have very limited and circumscribed sources of revenue to enable them execute meaningfully and effectively the functions and responsibilities assigned to them.

In my local government at Ajeromi Ifelodun in Ajegunle, we have not felt the presence of local government at all, take for instance, the road from otto – wharf to Achakpo have never been maintained for as provided in the constitution, the question begging for an answer, is what do the Ajeromi Local Government do with money that go to them?

HOW IS YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT?, express your mind if indeed they are working now that you know their functions.

You need to look at the entire process chain. Even if you build in the 8000 wards, do you have the personnel to run them, such as doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other ancillary staff?

Even if he plans to put just one doctor, pharmacist, and nurse per unit. We do not have the capacity to staff them. I don't know how many doctors, pharmacists, and nurses Nigerian universities turn out on an annual basis. But we do not have the idle capacity wanting for jobs.

On Kpiiii my bended prick, the very first of its name, I can swear that,

Obi has invested heavily in health sector, setting precedence with personal funds, so I believe him.

You fail to build communal schools when your were in government. You refuse to pay doctors when you were governor. You taxed market women when you were governor. You left general hospitals to go rot when you were governor. You said "education is not for the poor" . Now you're saying a different thing.
And leave the decaying one ?
U think to manage public funds is just to waste it ?

U can not be a good manager.

That is why u see so many abandoning projects in the country because everyone want to start a new one in other to embezzel funds
Because the know that people like u will support them

Obi that could not build health center until his government collected grant from Melinda Gates (Bill Gate family)

Yet the criminal still owe doctors salary for 13 months and allowed thousands of people to die, so we should allow this lunatic to become president so that over 1 million can die in hospital once doctors ask for increments

If anyone vote this short devil God will punish you

➜"I Will Build Primary Health Centres in All 8,000+ Wards" — Obi Declares During Abuja Visit
During his visit to the Waru Wazobia community in Apo, Abuja, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi unveiled an ambitious vision to establish primary healthcare centres in all of Nigeria's more than 8,000 wards. Addressing residents during the ongoing PVC registration exercise, Obi emphasized that true governance is measured not by what happens in major cities, but by the impact it has on underserved rural communities.
"This is where governance truly matters, not only in the cities. The rural communities, where the needs are greatest, are where government should demonstrate that it exists and genuinely cares for its people. These communities deserve quality education, accessible primary healthcare, and other essential basic amenities," he said.
Obi also urged Nigerians to play an active role in the electoral process, stressing that meaningful national development begins with citizen participation. His remarks have sparked fresh conversations about rural development, healthcare, education, and the importance of voting in shaping Nigeria's future.
These are the responsibilities of the Local Government, not the Federal Government. The last 25 years have more than proven to any Nigerian paying attention that the Federal Government cannot and should not be trusted with such things. There needs to be a power shift from the federal to the local. undecided

Anyone witnessing what is happening in the country knows the most important issue right now is the Constitution, that document that literally makes it nearly impossible to deal with the prevalent issue of insecurity in the country. Sharia needs to be removed from the Constitution, and Nigeria may benefit more from a return to regional government, or maybe even be dissolved into different nations. Is this man ever going to address the elephant in the room? undecided

Sowore has addressed this particular issue before, but to date, I have yet to read of Obi addressing this. How come? undecided

I get Tinubu is a disaster, but your obi is not helping issues by claiming he will do work that is left to the local government. Nigeria does not need another overreaching Federal government. Nigeria needs a more pragmatic person at the top and more effective people at the bottom. After Buhari and Tinubu, more power needs to be removed from the top, not retained there. If anything, the federal government needs to have its power and responsibilities cut in half. undecided

because they were using school classrooms as LGA offices then

1Alex:
During his tenure as Governor of Anambra State (2006–2014), Peter Obi made healthcare one of his major spending priorities. His administration invested in hospital infrastructure, primary healthcare, maternal care, and partnerships with mission hospitals.

Some of the most frequently cited investments include:

₦3 billion for mission and government hospitals (2013): His government disbursed about ₦3 billion to upgrade hospitals, build and renovate facilities, improve equipment, and strengthen maternal and child healthcare. Major beneficiaries included hospitals such as Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (Ihiala), Iyienu Hospital (Ogidi), Holy Rosary Hospital (Onitsha), St. Joseph's Hospital (Adazi-Nnukwu), and several general hospitals across the state.

Renovation of public hospitals: His administration renovated numerous general hospitals and constructed rural maternity and child health centres to expand access to healthcare, particularly in underserved communities.

Support for mission hospitals: Rather than building an entirely state-run system, Obi's government invested heavily in mission-owned hospitals, which already provided a significant share of healthcare services in Anambra. The funding was used for infrastructure, accreditation, equipment, and staff training.

Healthcare recognition: During his administration, Anambra received recognition for improvements in immunization, and Obi was awarded the Best Performing Governor on Immunization in Southeast Nigeria by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Overall, the best-documented figure is the ₦3 billion healthcare intervention announced in 2013, alongside broader investments in hospital upgrades, rural health centres, and mission hospitals.
You people think everyone is as stupid as you are...he invested heavily in health sector while he was a governor, yet doctors went on strike for poor working conditions and non payments of salary for 13 months? You people must be very fuulish just as that woman voice fraudster

It's always about, 'I will do this' and 'I will do that.' There has never been a time when he explained how he plans to generate the revenue needed to fund these projects. Does he think he can simply print money to pay for everything?

When we question this guy's intelligence people will think we are just hating.
PHC that is the job of LGA and sometimes state government is what this one is promising to build at FG level. If he has not noticed, FG primarily focuses on teaching and specialist hospitals, yet see what a whole presidential hopeful level of thinking is.

Each time I promise myself not to be hard on lamba king, he goes ahead to make statements that if put mildly are outright fuulesh.
