There is nothing like luck here. The game exposed the technical deficiency of African coaches. Look at the substitutions. Instead of bringing in defensive minded players to lock the game, he brought in midfielders and attackers. Imagine, an experienced Koulibaly was on the bench. This why you have to respect Mourhino and other top class coaches more. I hope he has learnt his lessons though in a very hard way.

Tunisia 94 that was like ystday to me.
I watched every damn match in the Nations cup that year with my clear eyes and doesn't need any dad or anybody to tell me about it.
So what happened then in your fictional imagination that you think we didn't know?
Just for you to know I watched those matches, I am typing this without googling it, all from my head.

Tunisia 94, we were three team in one group.
We beat Gabon 3nil and drew Egypt to qualify for the quarter finals where we beat Zaire now named Congo DR by two clinical goals from Yekini.
Semi final was against Ivory Coast were Michel Bassole of Ivory coast scored first and Yekini equalized. He scored again and Ben Iroha equalize with a beautiful one two with Jay Jay Okocha.

The final was against Zambia where their defender Elijah Litana ( I can never forget that name) scored first from a corner. Before Emmanuel Amunike playing in his first match at the Nations cup scored two excellent goals to give Nigeria the cup.
So guy, I don't know how old are you and I am not gonna underrate you, but stop thinking I am a baby when it comes to football.
The first world cup match I watch live on TV as a 10yr old was in 1990 where Argentina as the defending champion played against Cameroun and lost 1nil.

Keep decieving yourselves. Did Nigeria qualify for the world? Nigeria lost to the only quality team they met at Nations Cup tournament. Notice how Morocco easily shut down Iwobi from making those dangerous passes. That's how world class teams would easily send Nigeria home. Nigeria has not figured out the concept of SPACE and PRESSURE. It showed during friendly with Portugal befire the world cup. We are still playing amateur football that rely on skill and athletism. If soccer was about skill, Brazil will always win.
