Gbajabiamila: Who smuggled N1.3bn into PFIPC budget – Atiku’s aide demands key answers

Paul Ibe, media aide to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has asked the presidency to provide answers to three key questions regarding the allegation leveled against President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

DAILY POST recalls that an acclaimed Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Adeniyi Matthew recently accused Gbajabiamila of involvement in alleged appointment-for-cash scandal.

Matthew alleged that Gbajabiamila demanded N27.4bn from the take-off grant of a purported agency and collected N400m, through proxies, to secure his appointment as director-general of the agency.

But the presidency, in an official statement on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, denied the claim, stating that the accuser and the purported agency is unknown to the government.

However, according to Ibe, the detailed statement failed to address some key questions regarding the allegation and the council.

Atiku’s media aide questioned how the alleged unknown agency got N1.3 billion in the 2026 budget.

In a post on his official X handle, Ibe said though Onanuga has “said so much, but we want answers to the following:

“Who smuggled N1.3 billion for Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi’s Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the 2026 Budget? (See attached).

“Did Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila receive N400 million alleged bribe from Adeyemi?

“Don’t you think that your Presidency gives itself away as one big scam if an individual can easily secure office space from the Federal Secretariat for the purposes of the “scam” PFIPC operations?”

Man, this is wild. Onanuga quickly dismissed the whole council and the DG as "unknown" to the government, but then boom—how do you explain a whole N1.3 billion sitting right there in the official 2026 top games budget? Plus, setting up a whole operation inside the Federal Secretariat isn't something an average scammer can just pull off overnight without some serious inside backing. Whether the N400 million bribe allegation is true or not, the presidency definitely has some major explaining to do because "we don't know them" just isn't cutting it anymore.

Onanuga didn't put up this 'whatever' for you.
He, alongside the other Daddy Cry Cry, put it for their WhatsApp people who are working tirelessly this night to find what to frame.

This is not the first allegation against this CoS, not even the second. How the go-between, Dolapo Babatunde, even died is a cause for concern. We should sacrifice for reforms whilst they are not sacrificing themselves.

This scandal is not given the much needed attention by the media, opposition and the entire country.
A scandal less than half the magnitude of this would have the entire country enraged, with different civil society organisations calling the government to accountability...But No, here we are taking it with a pinch of salt because we have normalised corruption.

This is the part where the opposition holds the government by the jugular to score cheap points for the next election. Unfortunately,we don't have an opposition.

I don't think Nigerians realise that they have one of the most dangerous character in Nigeria’s history at the helm of affairs.

A sincere man will never surround himself with so many questionable characters or demand absolute worship...

One can only imagine what other illegal things have been smuggled into budgets over the years... a forensic analysis of all budgets under the dingbat is needed.

Even the tax law manipulations have been covered up and the arrow head rewarded with a ministerial position...

They are all birds of the same feather. Gbajabiamila was banned from practicing law in the US because of fraud. He come back to Nigeria to come and do politics and succeed because the sociology political environment celebrates what he does.

The case is simple. They created the PFIC or whatever and appointed the Adeyemi, they signed documents and even opened CBN account for the parastatal (CBN must have done their due diligence). .

However, like the criminals and office bandits that they are, they failed to agree on the sharing formular of the national loot that will be siphoned via that office, so the COS decided to 'scatter' everything..

Believe Oponuga's words at your own peril.

This is a case of pen robbers failing to agree on the sharing formular of the loot they have stolen and intend to steal..

Nobody can tell me, Gbaja wasn't involved in that fraud, con-man/fraudster couldnt penetrate govt officials/establishment far to that extent, without having backing of one of kitchen cabinets.

Fake DG has conversations with EFCC CHAIRMAN AND FOREIGN DIPLOMATS, ALSO HAVING BUDGETARY CODE NUMBERS. INDEED, ADEYEMI CARRIED FAKE EMPLOYMENT LETTER GIVING OUT BY GBAJABIAMILA.

I THINK TINUBU SHOULD DEVELOP COURAGE TO ASK HIS CHIEF OF STAFF TO STEP DOWN, PENDING THE OUTCOME OF INVESTIGATIONS.
