It didn't even occur to me that Adire was seen by some people as a Yoruba thing, until this NYSC bruhaha.

Aso Oke is Yoruba's traditional wear.

I don't know any Yoruba person that 'feels' Yoruba because they're wearing adire, in a way that wearing Aso Oke makes you feel.

Besides, you don't want Adire because it is made primarily in Abeokuta (part of your country) but you want Khaki and T shirts that are made in China, a foreign country

You want the Government to patronise Innoson motors made in the East (I support), but you don't want the Government to use a clothing material made in the West. As a Northerner you insist Arabic must remain on the naira (even though majority of Nigerians in other parts of the country can't read the language), and no one cares, but you don't want a Nigerian institution to adopt a clothing material because according to you, it is associated with a particular section of the country. Ok o.

And I'm sure Adire can by made in any part of Nigeria by those who want to. Learning to make it surely can't take more that 3 months.

But some Nigerians would rather hurt themselves on the alter of tribalism.

In any case, the outfit can be made from locally sourced materials from the North and the East.

They can drop Adrire. Yorubas are instinctively disinclined to fight for cultural supremacy with anyone. You don't do that when you're so confident about your culture.

Any way as long as it is a local material, any suitable local material from any part of Nigeria, it is better than foreign import.

Where did you hear that rubbish. Just say the name is called is Yoruba name. Adire is simply Tie and Dye. Many countries of West Africa and even east Africa produce them.
