Caskets displayed in Tehran Khamenei's flag-draped coffin sat at Tehran's Grand Mosalla alongside family members killed in the Israeli airstrike that came in the first moments of the war on Feb. 28. The dead being honored include a son-in-law, his eldest daughter, a 14-month-old granddaughter and the wife of Iran's new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the previous leader who remains in hiding after reportedly being wounded in the attack. Religious leaders and foreign dignitaries walked up to Khamenei’s casket as a military band played or a man sang prayers. Iran's Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and President Masoud Pezeshkian, key leaders in the country's civilian government, all paid their respects. Video published by Iranian state media showed an earlier mourning ceremony Thursday night for Khamenei. The black-clad mourners, whom state media identified as coming from families of those who lost loved ones in the 12-day war in 2025 and the recent Iran war, threw scarves and other items for attendants to brush against the coffin, a common practice in Iran seen as a blessing. Later, state media showed images of Khamenei’s casket draped by a red flag with white calligraphy reading “Ya Hussein,” a Shiite expression in remembrance of the 7th-century martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson. It had been flying over the Imam Hussein golden-domed shrine in Karbala, Iraq. The flag also traditionally symbolizes both the spilled blood of someone unjustly killed and a call for vengeance.

Among those overseeing the arrangements is General Ahmad Vahidi, the recently appointed commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who on Friday made his first public appearance since February 8, sitting beside Khamenei’s coffin. This is the same man the child-killers in Occupied Palestine have declared eliminited at 4 different times. He is the de-factor tamer of Trump and his pets in Occupied Palestine.

Osiris12:Trump is alive yet lives in his shadows. War on Iran: ‘what the US and Israel did backfired’ Khamenei’s funeral procession has been intended by the Iranian government as a “display of unity” that carries a message to the US and Israel, says a Tehran-based analyst. Following the assassination of the supreme leader, the government did not fall but became stronger, Abas Aslani, senior research fellow at the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies in Tehran, told Al Jazeera. “Prior to the war a few months ago there were economic protests in the country and the people were protesting against the economic situation. But the attack against the country changed the dynamic and those who were protesting against the government came back to the streets, but this time not to protest but to support the political establishment,” Aslani said. “What the US and Israel did backfired. They wanted to bring about regime change in the country, but what actually happened created a rally around the flag.”

Osiris12:Are you dead? No, yet you are obscure. Iran did not invite European countries to Khamenei’s funeral By Resul Serdar Atas Reporting from Tehran, Iran According to the foreign ministry spokesperson, so far more than 50 delegations have already paid their respects to Iran’s late supreme leader. So, the prominent figures you’re seeing: the president of Tajikistan; the president of Iraq and also the Iraqi speaker of parliament. And then you have a delegation from Turkmenistan; the president of Georgia; the prime minister of Pakistan. Pakistan is quite important here because perhaps it was the highest-level attendance from Pakistan. Then we have Nikol Pashinyan, the prime minister of Armenia; Dmitry Medvedev from Russia; the vice president of Turkiye and many more. What we are seeing is that those who attended were mostly from either neutral states or friendly states. And the Iranians are saying they did not extend invitations to European countries or those who have directly, or indirectly, supported the Israeli and American military campaign on Iran. |

Them never still end everything there. They said the dead men won the war. I wonder why the attacks Iran attacked Israel and America assets are been overated like we weren't expecting Iran to do notable damage. Do you know how old is Iran and how they have developed for centuries coming. The war that America came to Iran backyard to fight no country can even do what they did, not Russia not China. |

Funny how some people are saying Iran won the little battle Iran had with America.. America killed your top generals and your leaders. Yet you couldn’t kill any key American leader. Take the war to a chess board and tell who the real winner is..😂😂😂 |

FreeStuffsNG:WOW.... Religion always be religioning, abeg! ![]() How else do you explain the fact that even in Islam, the strict rules only apply to the brainwashed populace and not to their sheikhs/imams/caliphs who control them? This man is literally being buried many months after his death and probably in a fancy custom-made casket at that, while the average Islamist lives by the delusion that burial must take place within 24 hours of death. ![]() |

Openyamind111:Iran is just stubborn and US only employed leniency. Their destruction would have been worst. I think US is being considerate of the few good ones amongst them that live in Iran and have no where to go! If not US would have leveled or humbled them like they did to Iraq who since been very quiet |

Toscarel:Islam is a political system masquerading as a religion, so expect the same issues that are found in other religions to exist in Islam too. Religion is a system of tools with which the gullible masses are made easier to control. ![]() While the brainwashed Islamist thinks they have to be buried on the same day to make their Islamic Jannah, their Islamic overlords don't really believe in or care much for all that nonsense since they know it ain't true. |

I can see that you know nothing about war,you think people killed determine who win or lose,no,war is far from that,USA and is real could not achieve their aim instead make Iranian knows to the world as a strong country plus making them know they also poccess other economy weapons which is strait ofhomus that is a win for Iran. I noticed that America and Israel didn't want to Target Iranian government executive precisely like the president and vice, including the speaker It was only the supreme leader and IRGC they were after Something deep must be happening I guess it's because the executive leadership was an elected position by the whole country. Thet has serving terms Anyway my guess may be wrong |
