Burkinabé students now need government permission to study abroad. This means that whether your father is a cabinet minister or a private millionaire, there is no way for their children to escape the state of the country's educational system

Which leaves them no choice but to make sure that the facilities available to students in the country are befitting of their own children.

That is how a country develops an actual elite. Not like Nigeria where as soon as I finished secondary school, my parents put me on a plane to England to enjoy a standard of education that no Nigerian alive today will ever enjoy in Nigeria. The class my parents belong to is called a pseudo-elite.

A proper elite is what is coming together now in the AES. Just wait. If there is no change of Nigeria's trajectory, within 10 years, Nigerians will start going to university in Burkina Faso and making it out to be a status symbol."

The military government of burkina faso led by Captain Ibrahim Traore is not joking around.

1. In january 2026, all political parties in burkina faso were formally dissolved with all of their assets seized.

2. In April 2026, mass dissolution of 118 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups operating in the country was ordered because some NGOs were working as proxies for "toxic imperialist partners" to subvert national security

3. In june 2026, The military government has cut diplomatic ties with former colonial ruler france because they found evidence that france actively supports subversive networks and terrorists groups like the al-Qaeda-backed Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) and Islamic State Sahel Province (ISSP).

4. Now they have introduced a new policy requiring all students, whether government-sponsored or private, to obtain government approval before studying abroad...

...Which leaves them no choice but to make sure that the facilities available to students in the country are befitting of their own children.That is how a country develops an actual elite.

This is how you know a country that is heading towards real change and greatness.

These are proper reforms that indicate true leadership and patriotism......the enemies of Africa can keep on hating and spreading propaganda against this man while also sponsoring terrorists organizations to make his country ungovernable but those who have seen and understood the hand writing on the wall are well aware that he is a true son of the soil and he is aimed at making his country great unlike the sell outs here....hopefully he will overcome and many of his likes will rise up to help Africa break from it's bondage....Ase!!!

The issue I have with Nigerian corrupt politicians is that they don't have sense... You'll steal money and go and spend it abroad, you'll send your kids abroad with stolen funds... The whites will take that money to develop their country and make you invest over there, they know it's stolen funds but what's their business....

You'll impregnate your wife in Nigeria, but when it's time for her to give birth you'll take her abroad... Dem go carry dat money again use equip their hospitals.....

The so-called "elite education" he enjoyed in the UK clearly did NOT work because the guy is still DULL.

Because, how else would someone INTERPRET what is clearly an attempt by an ILLEGITIMATE Military Regime to CONTROL what the masses learn in order to CONSOLIDATE power as a SUPERIOR way to improve education.

Plus, ANYBODY who's NOT just a blind HATER of their own country can see that education in Nigeria, especially Tertiary Institutions, have been on an UPWARD trajectory in the past decade.

Nigerian schools are BREAKING into rankings they'd NEVER entered before.
Nigerian scholars are leveraging NEW and IMPROVED learning facilities to produce VALUABLE researches.

People who have NEVER read a research paper in their LIVES keep shitting on their country.

Imagine a NON-MILITARY government in Nigeria BANS the movement of PRIVATE individuals in pursuit of education, the UK-education that this MOOMOO used to define himself as a "pseudo-elite" would have been IMPOSSIBLE.

And if a Military Government did INSTITUTE something like that, Nigerians would have to DEAL with the UNCHECKED, UNBRIDLED and UNCURBED excesses of the Nigerian Military.

And we KNOW how brutal the CRIMINALS in uniform can be.

Nigerian Education still has a LOOONG way to go.
Improvements are NECESSARY.
Maybe even a total OVERHAUL.

But using the actions of an ILLEGITIMATE Military GOONS as an excuse to SHEET on your own country is just STEWPID.

If we don't get it right as a country, it is our children who will pay the biggest price. We are doing the next generation a great disservice by allowing our Polithiefcians and criminal elites destroy our educational, healthcare, security, and other critical institutions and allowing it to deteriorate while those who can afford it simply seek better alternatives abroad.

A nation cannot truly develop when its leaders and elite are disconnected from the realities faced by the average citizen. If this trend continues, there may indeed come a time when Nigerians look to countries we once considered less developed for quality education and better opportunities. That should concern every one of us.

Government approval to study abroad, even if sponsorship is private, is not right.
It is like trying to impose an "exit visa" on the citizens.

it just means that only the rich, elites, well connected, and those that can bribe their way will get the govt approval to study abroad
