Good day guys. I am an uber driver in Lagos. I got a tokunbo engine for my big daddy camry at ladipo early last month (JUNE 2026), unfortunately the engine isn't performing optimally and I requested the seller to replace the engine or refund me which he refused, I recently discovered that what was sold to me is a recoupled engine and not a tokunbo engine as claimed by the seller. Pls guys how best can I go about resolving this matter cos due to this issue I have not been able to use the car to work for about a month now. Advices will be greatly appreciated......thanks
The fault is from you, and there is nothing you can do, other than buying another engine or you manage it that way.

When buying an engine, you need to make connection first, to get a direct importer, with the help of a trusted insider, before buying from ladipo, i can link you up with an importer that will give you 100% tokunbo engine imported from Japan

Don't ever do the mistake to buy engine through your mechanic.

If he even brought his own trusted mechanic sef iz better than Tru ladipo mechanic. As in d mechanic he used is loyal to the part seller and they are friends.

Honestly nothing he can do to recover d engine or money even if he reports to the union. Na just story story and time wasting.

Iz gone

Most often than not, the seller will bribe your own mechanic as much as 150k, and sell Nigerian used engine to you as tokunbo, and your mechanic will gladly jump on it, plus the money he would make from you, that is why i would not recommend using a mechanic.

So there are high chances that your mechanic will sell you out, when he stands a chance to make more than 200k.

Well I agree but depending on your type of mechanic. Gazzuz won't do that along with professional mechanics and even if dey did d mechanics will ensure atleast u get a good engine cause of their professional name. Iz not good for bizness. Emphasis on professionals

Honestly I would also get from importer directly as u said it also reduces d cost of d engine

Yes I pray it works out for him at least even if the union can tell d man to replace d engine or fix this one but not refund. All his energy shouldn't be to get money back cause d dealer won't want to lose money rather to get a working engine

On a good day ladipo people don't refund money, sometimes a chain of people are involved during the business and they have all collected their shares out of the profits and move front.
Except you are very very sure its the person that imports the engine directly.
