But the governor replied that even if it's his sons, the IG should go ahead and arrest them... Question is, did the IG do anything after that?

To me, the IG only stated what he was told by the CP. The next thing is to search the house, if he doesn't see the said thug, then fire the CP for such allegation

If the officers at the state house don't stand down, it will be difficult to effect an arrest.
One way or the other, the state house also enjoys the immunity.
Eg, the COS isn't having immunity, but if he is to be arrested today, except ordered by the president, no police officer will just invade the villa to arrest him despite not having immunity

The officers at the state house are still under the IGP.

The state governor doesn’t control the federal police.

No. The police can carry out investigations without the suspect.

After investigations and the suspect is found wanting, then he can be arrested and subsequently charged to court.

That’s the normal process for prosecution.

And you know that investigations are not being carried out on the bandits. Also the post I responded to was specifically on charging an individuel to court. You can't charge àn unknown entity to court.
