i dont believe this. 23k? even a cleaner would not receive 23k as salary!. if it is true, then it must be in a remote village and definitely not in the SW region

Thank God I left that wicked country. Not perfect here but at least they pretend to respect your work and dignify every legitimate work no matter what.

If iam a nurse i will raise some money and travel out, so many hospitals out there are ready to employ nurses, take care of your travel and visa expenses including your dependants.

If I can't raise money to travel out, I will open a medicine store in a busy area and cash out big time.

it's not exorbitant
It's the current market value
We are just to unproductive to afford it(drugs from abroad, machines from abroad, bandage from abroad) all internationally priced just like oil,cocoa or silver

My agency used to be on 120k salary until the union move n play the politics they should be ranked in the order of big science n tech ministries

Unless you re working in an oil company or a government hospital your salary as a nurse is not more than 50K, even as a registered nurse.

Its the most overworked and underpaid profession in the medical field, this is why nurses engage is other activites (which I cant mention here ) to make ends meet.

If you re married to one know that you are sharing her with male patients, this is why many nurses japa to countries where they are appreciated.

Is she trained and professional Nurse? She is RN at least? I find it hard to believe if the answer would be yes.

The minimum salary a Graduate Nurse (BSN) should receive in Nigeria of today should be:

NGN350,000 starting salary for those working in the private hospital

NGN450,000 starting salary for those in the government hospital


And for Doctors, it should go like this:

NGN800,000 starting for those in private hospitals.

NGN1,500,000 starting for those in government hospitals.

NGN4,500,000 for consultants.


That's if Nigeria truly want quality healthcare

Doctors 1.5m, nurses 450k. Can you imagine

Nurses work flexible shift and get off days sometimes 2 to 3 days off after a night shift. if you calculate work done per hour. The nurse is still earning more than the doctor even with that pay. Some doctors especially those in training can spend 7 to 10 days of 30 days in a month doing calls in addition to their normal 8 to 4 . I will pick the 450k over the 800k if I get 2 days off after every night shift.
