I wouldn't be surprised if USA lost their match and then Trump called FIFA president to overturned the result and he complied. Everything is possible in this particular world cup, there are no rules.

England have not been that terrific...they could only manage a 1-0 win over DR Congo, whom on paper they are far better than they are, and their group stage games were a bit tough.

Also, Mexico City is in a high altitude area. There were worries that there might not be enough time for acclamitization

Finally, Mexico had won all their games prior to the England match. And they were quite strong...and they were at home.
