I have worked in private sector and now govt but I am taking this decision to fully concentrate in my dream and to fully harness my plans for the future.

Nothing like ur own,where u dictate what happens and not the other way round.

This is the time to complete what I started and to give it the touches it needs.

To think that,I was supposed to write my promotion exam and move to 13 in few months time is like a dream to many people but I have to ditch it for my future dreams. Meaning I am resigning as a level 12 officer.

After ten years, is it possible to get some benefits if you do voluntary retirement instead of straight resignation?

Good luck, have investment in mutual funds with asset management company as your money won't lose value. This will be your emergency funds.

I can't because I didn't steal one dime from anyone and personally,I made my money when I was a banker.

It is gonna be very regretful decision
Where many people seek govt job and or multiple streams of income, you re resigning from govt job to concentrate on self-employed business that have been affecting by inconsistent govt policies

Why can't you do the two jobs together.

Nawaoo. I won't support resigning from o govt job and choose self employed business and still remain in Naija

You're resigning as a level 12 officer, where govt work job security is top notch.

If you're resigning only to be self employed in Nigeria, then you're not wise.
But if you're traveling out to European and first world countries to pursue your dreams, then you're on the right path.

In short, I pray "had I know" won't be your portion.

After 10 years me sef go retire I no wan work pass age 45 if possible I plan to retire at 41 latest after all as a Nigerian our life expectancy is 54

Maybe you be gateman for government house. That one too na government work

Hope you have back up and financial reserves.

Lastly hope have discussed with your wife..

Not tomorrow she starts complaining when the investments never work, you then come here and tagged her as a failure or failed woman etc..

Which dreams is he pursuing in Europe or first world at the age of 45+?

If he has been involved in that business and have observed / experienced customer behavioral patterns / flourishing products / services in that niche before planning to resign, he is on the right path.

If he is has not mastered the above factors, then he needs to be patient and do both together for now.

*** To succeed as a biz owner in Nigeria currently, u have to be very determined and continuously inventive. If you don't have that lion spirit, don't bother pls.

Village people don dey succeed for this one matter. You just want to use your selfishness to affect your innocent children . You are a wicked person.

It is against the law brother.

As long as your business is in Nigeria you have no reason to resign, you can do the 2

Government jobs don't pay much but there is a level you will get to, you will make connections that will make you glad you stayed. Use your tongue to count your teeth

What do you mean illicitly?
It doesn't mean you won't be doing the government work.
You can get someone capable to supervise your personal business and be there during public holidays, your annual leave, weekends etc to see how things are going.
I believe you should be able to run the two...
