Trump confirmed that he spoke to FIFA’s president to intervene

Speaking on the matter, Trump said:

“I understand sports really well. Really well. And that wasn’t a foul.”

He continued:

“He didn’t do anything wrong… he’s our best player, or one of our best players.”

Explaining why he got involved, Trump added:

“When they take your best player… that’s very unfair.”

He then confirmed his intervention, saying:

“So, yes, I asked for a review by FIFA.”

Following the review, FIFA overturned Balogun’s one-match suspension, making him available for the USA’s Round of 16 clash against Belgium, a decision that has sparked widespread debate across the football world.

All the nosey reporters from CNN and CNBC specifically wanted to know if he called anybody (which they already knew he did). What did you want him to say? If he denied it or kept quiet they'll turn it into something else including bribery and quid-pro-quo!

He should have applied discretion. There are ways to answer such questions or he should have just waved it away. He talks anyhow most times

You don't know American reporters and their Watergate mentality. They'll simply report that sources inside the president's underwear confirmed the call he was trying to deny, and the billions in contracts he promised FIFA president!

Trump is too lousy. The likes of Barack Obama, Bush, or even Joe Biden for no cast am like that even if he happens. Trump put FIFA and Infatino under the knife with the way he spoke about it.

How about Prince Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait, who, during the 1982 World Cup, walked onto the pitch during a live group stage match between Kuwait and France to successfully protest a French goal?
French players had scored a fourth goal to make it 4-1. Kuwait's players stopped defending, claiming they heard an errant whistle from the stands and assumed play was stopped.
Outraged by the referee's decision to allow the goal, Prince Fahad Al-Ahmed left his seat, walked onto the field, and argued directly with the referee, Myroslav Stupar of the Soviet Union. The Prince threatened to pull the entire Kuwaiti team off the field in protest. Facing immense pressure, the referee reversed his decision and disallowed the goal.
Although the goal was wiped off the board, France scored again shortly after, still winning the match 4-1.
That was the one and only time Kuwait has ever qualified for world cup.
