A viral video of a corn seller claiming she earns more than N2.5 million every month has sparked widespread debate on social media, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief while others argued that such earnings are possible in a thriving small-scale business.

The short clip, which has been circulating across various social media platforms, captured the moment a woman asked the corn seller how much she makes from her business.

Responding confidently, the trader said:

"Per month I make like N2.5 million."

Although it remains unclear whether the video was part of a content creation skit or a genuine street interview, the claim quickly gained traction online.

The video has since generated thousands of reactions on platforms such as X and Instagram, with users divided over the authenticity of the seller's statement. While some dismissed the figure as exaggerated, others maintained that a well-located and properly managed corn business could indeed generate substantial monthly revenue.

Reacting one, cipherbanks stressed, “This is the reason why most people can’t become successful in life. Did any of you actually tried to think of the possibility of corn business making 2.5M/month before you criticize? Think of this “roasted corn is now 1k, and I bet you they sell more than 100pcs per day(up to 200pcs), that already puts her business sales at 100k+ per day, which roughly hits 2M+/month assuming she only sells 20 days a month. Second scenario: if she sells the corn at 500naira, selling 200pcs a day still puts her at 2M+ / month. Learn to think I did not even include the pear and coconut on the side o.”
