Public Taps In Emene, Enugu Flow For The First Time In 30 Years by Tabithatim(op): 6:45am
Tears of joy flowed freely in Emene as thousands of residents witnessed a moment many had long given up hope of seeing.

After more than 30 years without public water supply, taps that had remained dry for decades are flowing again.

Another demonstration that Governor Mbah has not relented, even for a moment, in his resolve to restore pipe-borne water and ensure that running water returns to homes in Enugu State.

Dreams come true. Tomorrow is Here.

It has not been up to 30 years. Taps were running in Emene in the early 2000s

I'm struggling to understand this. Are you saying pipe-borne water has only just become available in Enugu State after 3 decades? How, exactly, have people been getting by all these years? Surely, you're not suggesting that there are still communities relying on ponds for their daily water supply.

Most likely wells, private boreholes and other sources not necessarily pounds and streams.

There is borehole sir. And people purchase water using tankers. Do you have running water scheme in your state!?

See people celebrating mediocrity this was supposed to be a basic amenity that the government owes it’s citizenry, there was a country indeed.

Enugu is a beautiful city if not the scarcity of water which compelled me to leave this beautiful city since more than a decade years ago.
And with this new development, I really commend the govt of Peter mba. One of the governors that has the interest of the masses at heart after Alex Otti.

For people who actually want to learn about the water situation in the mentioned town, there's no dip you can dig borehole to get water in that town

3m in and you're dealing with coal down to earth mantle. So the government had to transport water from 9th Mile axis to this part of Enugu. It's like going from Ikorodu to Island in Lagos through pipes.

I hope this brings context. This is commendable on the part of the governor as most residents have been left to fend for themselves through water tankers and well

Bad market for those in water business in enugu, it's really shameful that an oil rich state like delta doesn't even have a functioning water system like this the one that was facilitated by the afdb loan has been completely abandoned for decades now all the massive water pipes that was dug undergraround around warri and effurun areas have completely turned into rusted ion dusts.

water is a basic amenity, it's not like shooting rocket to space.

It's not that hard to provide water

do you have public water supply system in your state?

Nigeria governors are useless so I am not making excuses for them sha. They will rather build airports that serve zero needs than provide basic amenities

To me,
MBAH is the best first term governor in Nigeria.

Alex Otti is fair but overrated with hype..e.g attributing power plant built by barth Nnaji to him

Governor PETAX Mbah is a yahoo yahoo leader, He promised to fix up water issues with 180days of swearing in and here we are celebrating water running in Emene which is just like 2% of Enugu populace and it's location is even in the heart of Enugu housing NNPC DEPOT and International Airport.......

Majority of the Smart schools in rural areas are abandoned and now hide out for drug and other nefarious activities.

PETAX Mbah is just the Igbo version of Tinubu
