Spy360:That is not necessarily why Lagos is congested. Lagos metropolis is 17 million you know? Lome and Cotonou are doing far more freight and they don't have one third of Lagos population. There are port cities doing more than Lagos whose population isn't more than 500k |

raumdeuter:Is IBPlc his private company? That company is a fore runner among listed companies in Nigeria. It is a blue chip company with products in the market for five decades. The company has since opened a factory in Onitsha and it is probably the number one employer in the state now. The state representatives are on the board. Then even if it is his private company, he still did the right thing by investing government money in a real company that is a major player in the economy. A company selling billions of naira per annum in Anambra state. |

Came across this video of a type of Car theft in the USA. Let's call the Thief "Mr B" - Mr B steals a car - Instead of running away with it, he takes it to another location, and strips it of everything. Infact, only the skeleton would be left - He abandons the scrap there - The Police finds the scrap. - In the end, the scrap is taken to an auction and sold for peanuts (obviously) Mr B has been monitoring the situation so far. Immediately he sees the scrap for sale in the auction, he buys it. Takes it home and fix those parts he stole. Now he has a perfect documented vehicle with no worries ![]() |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:49am On Jul 07 |
izzou:Hmmmmm..... While this seems smart, it can only happen in an organized country like the USA. In a country like Nigeria, the thief will be on the losing end. The moment the police trace the butchered car parts to a particular location, just know that some of those butchered car parts recovered will be missing within the police station. This one no be meme, I get friend wey be accident victim that experienced something similar. The vehicle in which he had accident was evacuated to the police station after the incident. Na inside the police station dem steal the car battery and some other parts ![]() In the USA scenario you gave, the moment the police recover this parts, an auction may never happen because na naija police go thief wetin dem recover. The original thief go just dey vex. |

BlueRayDick:More expenses for the Original thief ![]() But that plan was crazy. Human minds fit cool down conceive wickedness. I won't be surprised if that's how vehicles find their way into West Africa. |

iamoyindamola:How do they run that with phones? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by iamoyindamola(m): 10:44am On Jul 07 |
izzou:Those chip lock ïPhones were network phones abroad that were stolen and shipped down to naija Mr A buy at&t iPhone on installments, after 3 months Mr A can go back to declare the phone stolen to get another. The phones will be ship to Africa and sold as chip unlock, WiFi only or as spare parts. |

raumdeuter:Fair enough. Then there is need to make official enquiries on how long this has been going on and how deep it runs. Not sure Tinubu has the political will or desire to do that because he would most likely be burnt in the process. In my opinion, this form of corruption started from Buharis' era. That man (God rest in soul) allowed coruption to thrive and escalate despite criticising Jonathan for it. |

iamoyindamola:Not sure this works anymore Most late model apple devices have activation lock down to parts. Ie if you don't have the proprietary tools or licenses you cant assign parts to different devices. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:32pm On Jul 07 |
pocohantas:Lol. I was just looking around the market today There are jobs that Northerners easily do. You won't find Southerners doing them. I imagine if they send all Northerners out of Lagos. The chaos because we won't find truck pushers, loaders etc would be worrisome. I know such kind of economy exists in SA, and maybe that's what the Zimbabweans and others from the East side would be dominating. Make dem no go cut off their head because dem wan spite the nose |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by pocohantas(f): 1:42pm On Jul 07 |
izzou:Now you put it like this, you are right. But if truly these people were illegal immigrants, it means they (S.Africans) have to adapt somehow. I don't mind what they are doing, the problem has to be how they are going about it. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 1:43pm On Jul 07 |
iamoyindamola:Why are they irredeemable? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 1:45pm On Jul 07 |
Fkforyou:I believe this type of corruption has been going on for over 25yrs |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 1:53pm On Jul 07 |
pocohantas:I think the reason for the protest was genuine; It should have been a protest and deadline to deport everyone involved in illegal stuffs, like drugs and the rest. I am sure every neighborhood can find and identify foreigners doing that stuff. That said, deporting "illegal immigrants" for me can be detrimental, whether the process is genuine or not. There would definitely be an economy in a country like SA, where only these immigrants can fill. I really hope there are measures to fill that gap. The number of Zimbabweans, Malawians and others that left shows that wahala go dey over time |

. Now there are quite a number of them in Ikoyi and that link bridge. I won't be surprised if those NURTW agbero guys start collecting remittance from them on order to allow them continue their "business" without disruption.
