Instead of seeing it as something wrong with African teams, I actually see it as African teams awakening. Go back 10 years ago, African teams would have been well beaten to pulp right from group stage. Now they are getting better and it's a source of encouragement. We are getting there sooner or later.

As for today, I went with Messi, being the GOAT. Maybe in 10 years time the GOTT(Greatest Of That Time) we will all be supporting and chanting will be from Africa. I know it will happen, sooner than later.

I'm proud of what AFRICA is becoming : cool

Actually, that disallowed goal was a moral killer

Ever since I have been watching football, I have never seen such kind of disallowed goal before.

Not the foul on the half of Egypt, not anywhere close to the midfield, not to talk of around the box. A foul at Egypt box corner, such edge, allowed the ball to continue until Egypt converted it to a goal 🥅 .

Where was the referee?

The only marginal improvement I see there is that it is getting harder to defeat the good African teams unlike in the past when it was a “turn key” affaire for the big teams.

Overall, African teams still don’t know how to manage games at this level and get the desired results (players and technical crew)…..
