To think that,I was supposed to write my promotion exam and move to 13 in few months time is like a dream to many people but I have to ditch it for my future dreams. Meaning I am resigning as a level 12 officer.

Anything after level 12 is grace n politics

Dont fall into that trap cos you ll just be on your way out in another 10yrs. Its always good to plan your way out instead of waiting for the compulsory retirement

We are just like one family on nairaland. Don't resign from the government job. Find a way out to blend you government work with your personal business. The fiscal and monetary policies of government and CBN are seriously affecting businesses in Nigeria except you may be resigning to 'japa'.

U have to take the bull by the horn...make ur plans and follow it through.

I have been at a crossroads for the last 2 years if I should resign or not....... But this your post has given me the morale to do so. I am also in sake level as you and due to write promotion exams later this year.

But I've always wanted to do something on my own...... Fear of the unknown has kept me trapped.

Nigerian civil servants are the highest corrupt set of people in Nigeria....they are the ones that help government officials and elected executives to steal and loot all the monies that have been looted in Nigeria.


I doubt any Nigerian civil servant that occupied a Director or Permanent Secretary position will ever make heaven.


Most of them are mobile Babalawo....Dibia....Arusi....Juju....witches and wizards....maybe the op is resigning because he knows he cannot withstand the level of voodoo and juju being used by his colleagues in office, his resignation self fit be another level of juju spell that will later clear from his eyes

After 10 years me sef go retire I no wan work pass age 45 if possible I plan to retire at 41 latest after all as a Nigerian our life expectancy is 54

This was me 3 years ago, after working for 5 years. I retired at level 10, went back to private.

Yes,I have secured enough funding that if I don't work again I would be okay in the next 30years.

I joined service at level 9.

Pension money finishes within the number of years he/she estimates it with the pension fund.. although the number of years is at the beneficiary's liberty

2. if you take insurance annuity is for life

This is the first time am hearing that pension can finish.
I thought pension is paid till your death!

Where many people seek govt job and or multiple streams of income, you re resigning from govt job to concentrate on self-employed business that have been affecting by inconsistent govt policies

Why can't you do the two jobs together.
