Many teaching hospitals in Nigeria are federal institutions attached to federal universities and were established by the Federal Government, not state governors. Several states upgraded specialist hospitals into teaching hospitals or established colleges of medicine at different times.

Peter Odili is credited with establishing the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital during his administration, alongside major health-sector reforms. George Akume began construction of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital during his tenure. All before Pit.
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital was established by upgrading the existing Amaku General Hospital in Awka into a teaching hospital. The College of Medicine for the university was established in support.
Perhaps you want to call it a first in Anambra but it was actually an upgrade of the existing general hospital.

If you understand governance FG will also do things that will benefit more than one state at once like a university, coastal road or any inter state roads, power, security etc. the issue of primary health care or state hospitals belongs to governors. Try to understand how governance work first before you start talking. Okay.?

I'm still regretting the formal governors of my state (Abia) Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, T.A Orji and OUK, these people are worse than corruption, thanks to Alex Otti for rehabilitating the state now.

Lagos state is building something similar in ojo which will be the ojo general hospital its as massive as this and its to serve just one LGA,also the massey children hospital is equally as massive as this to cater for children's paediatric needs and maternal health......kudos to enugu state we need things like this to be replicated across the states,oshiomole built his on sapele road but obaseki locked it up for 8 yrs,amosun also built a 300 bed hospital in abeokuta but dapo locked it up to.....I wonder what kind of politics we play in this country .

Did you get to any fg hospital in the country and the doors were locked or no doctors and nurses to attend to you or you got there you didn't meet patients all over the country.....is it with your pocket money the fg is using to keep those places running? Before you start condemning, go round the country and see how many PHCs are being rehabilitated by the tinubu govt,dont rely on propaganda by obidients, go out and fact check for yourself.

I'm from Ogun state, Ifo precisely and I don't like the kind of politics played in my beloved state. I'm happy that some states have something similar and I hope others can wake up too and do the needful.

No that's not true, Chief Achike Udenwa built Imo state University Teaching Hospital Orlu, during his time.

Governor Mba have a good head on that his neck. Other governors are there with no sense of direction but just to loot, loot and loot, thereby leaving the people worse that how they met them

In Nigeria we do not prioritize our own resources.

The truth is that even after the completion of this hospital facility, our government officials (including governor Mbah himself) will still continue to seek medical checkups and treatments abroad.

Enugu is the capital of Enugu state. Mbah thrives more on media propaganda. Most of Enugu is slum and also Enugu lacks water. That’s the area Mbah should focus

But what Enugu people really need urgently is stable water supply and mass low cost housing.

Majority in the city don't go to Government Hospitals because of the attitude of Government doctors and nurses. They prefare private hospitals.
