Baba all the lecturers I know are doing well, rich and some , even super rich.

Don't rate them with cars , you will never know their true worth. All the lecturers I know are employers. Even the ones that don't have companies have investments heavily in real estate , but still driving cheap cars to deceive people

It maybe a scam to you but not for me. Dey play.

Its just like him telling his colleagues in the film industry that attending seminars and workshops is a scam. School is a system, an institution designed to strategically impart knowledge step by step.

Nowadays its not even a building anymore and its not by force you attend daily.

Be talking rubbish there, because one of your own is doing well in life , bring 1000 lecturers in Nigeria, you will rarely see 20 that are really successful, not the one packaging or living averagely well on the surface thinking they are doing well

well maybe the ones in your family are poor. Pls don't generalize that.

Lecturers I know aren't poor, and that is a fact. The ones lecturing in faculty of medical sciences own hospitals, ,the ones lecturing in engineering departments own firms , and consults for companies. I have never met any lecturer that is poor. Don't joke with those guys. You can ramble all the rubbish you want, that is your business. I have facts first hand. Many people tend to rate them with the cars they drive, rubbish! Bring 1000 lecturers, more than 60% of them are rich. Continue wailing

If he has a modicum of sense, he'd know that the academia is a citadel of knowledge, not a money-making ideal. Even Einstein was not "rich" in Jim Iyke's sense.

In a society like ours where money is all that's to life and survival is almost everything you'll not blame Jim for this kind of statement.

We worship money and there's no stopping or backing out from this, so Jim, you're justify.

Not everyone will be RICH

AND

Not everyone will be POOR

Either SCHOOL or NO SCHOOL.
Re: There Is Some Truth To ‘School na Scam’ – Jim Iyke by AngelSlay: 3:52pm On Jul 09
I don't think school is a scam. Education and wealth are two completely different things.

Yes, Jim Iyke may be richer than some of his lecturers, but that doesn't make education worthless. By that logic, every billionaire without a degree proves school is a scam, while every millionaire doctor, engineer, lawyer, or professor proves it's not. Life isn't that simple.

Lecturers don't go into academia to become the richest people in society. Many choose teaching because they're passionate about research, knowledge, and shaping future generations. Their value can't always be measured by their bank account.

School gives you knowledge, critical thinking, discipline, networks, and qualifications. What you do with those tools determines your financial success.

The real lesson is this: don't rely on your certificate alone. Build skills, solve problems, start businesses, invest, and create value. A degree can open doors, but your mindset and actions determine how far you'll go.

Success isn't about choosing between education and entrepreneurship—you can have both. The smartest people leverage education while building wealth outside the classroom.

If Jim Iyke didn't attend school, he wouldn't have made any headway in nollywood let alone getting the celebrity status that helped his business

Stick to what works for you abeg.
Compare yourself with your lecturers is not a healthy comparison..
Without education shey will be blowing all this English?

If you measure education by only how rich you are, then sorry for you.

Elon Musk is richer than anyone alive today, but his rockets and space tech function because of intellectuals not rich men.

And who says going to school is to become rich.

It all depends on how civilize you should become.

JIM just showed he is uncivilized

School na scam because you're richer than your lecturer.

Interesting.

But you wont be who you are without them.

Money is not everything

There is dignity in many professions that do not necessarily pay very well

Instead use your platform to advocate for better pay for teachers around the country

, make these school na scam people keep quayet. They are speaking simple garbage.

All right don't go to school. By the time people cheat you in the market every single day because you do not know maths, or by the time you sign a contract that gives you 0.1 percent of your earnings from your own sweat and blood, because you cannot read...you go know school na scam

Plus for every rich person like the joker speaking...there are hundreds of broke ass people who did not finish school and are regretting.

A better way of looking at it is that there are people who manage their money better and those who do not, plus you need to have some school to manage money.

Nigeria and its government, especially this tinubu government, promote the idea that selling oil money and sharing it is the way, which is why we have the wrong idea about school. That's why we need to stop relying on oil money, and start relying on productivity.

no be scam...he choose the wrong narrative to as a case study.
Lecturer are not poor.
In case you miss it...you are supposed to be richer than your lecturer
A sportsman is supposed to be better than his/her coach
When you are taught a craft the person expect you to do better than him. In case Jim does not the lecturer/teacher expect their students to excel in life....they are disappointed if they are not.

being a lecturer in Nigeria, collecting only salary without any other source of income can never make one rich.

.... right after independence the regional governments (N,W,E and later MW) realize they had to work with academia for progress in the fierce competition among the regions !

.... until the khaki morons came and utterly destroyed academia !!

May OLODUMARE hasten the expiry date..

But is school that taught you how to speak so eloquently, deliciously and convincingly.

Just leave our distinguished Academicians as Dem dey where Dem dey please. The role they are playing is unquantifiable thank you
