I don't agree with this,
The sims are not sold separately, if you want to own them, you must buy the device.
Just get the provider that serves you better.

It depends but most times 6 hours minimum of 4 hours 30 mins

I have 3 Airtel odu's, mtn has to have something exceptional to make me switch. Why would I want to buy another device that offers nothing exceptional?

Airtel is notorious for being very unreliable. That's the reason people are going for mtn.

Mtn offers stability, and if they sustain this ODU campaign, they'll give Airtel a run for their money.

If the unlocking is your only issue, then get yourself ZLT X25PRO.

The thing is whether MTN allows swapping of the esim

I lost two projects just because Airtel wanted to be unfortunate.
MTN with its 5G has been stable in my area.
Having a package like ODU is almost same as fiber x.

I used to say this until MTN became perpetually unreliable in my location. I know when they were working they were better than Airtel by far but they experienced more downtimes for me when I was using their broadband bundles compared to what I have so far experienced with Airtel ODU.

Overall, we don't have active consumer protection. If not, all these networks would be reliable as they would otherwise be paying huge compensations for all these prolonged outages we always experience here.

You don't even know what you're talking about. The person you quoted was talking about how Airtel calls ODU customers who haven't subscribed on the ODU device for some time to remind the customer of the need to subscribe. Otherwise the ODU would be retrieved.
They initiate these calls from their customer support lines. I bet the person who called you was a scammer and you felt for it and sent 2k to him.

He said he wanted to help me change my registered number from MTN to Airtel because some people were saying Airtel would stop my ODU from browsing if I didn't use an Airtel number as the alternative number. That was my first week of getting the ODU, and I wasn't even the one who registered it because I had to pay an Airtel agent to help me set it up.

This is my second ODU, and I enjoyed using the first one so much that I decided to get another. 😄

Since they’re currently on promo (from ₦40,000 down to ₦25,000), I figured it made more sense to use my ₦25k to buy another ODU instead of paying for another subscription.

One thing I noticed, though, is that Airtel seems to have improved the ZLT network. On my first ODU, Band 7 always gave me the best performance. But on this new one, I couldn’t get more than 7 Mbps download speed at first.

Out of curiosity, I enabled all the available bands, and boom! 🚀 My download speed jumped to a minimum of 47 Mbps. That’s a massive improvement.

Has anyone else noticed this on the newer Airtel ODUs?

I don't want to praise Airtel because anytime I do they just start messing up but the thing is that there's a always a work around for the downtime. Airtel works for me in all locations. Currently I am in remote location and Airtel outperforms every other network. Like I said stability is subjective and mtn so far has nothing to offer to make me switch to this new odu. But we end users would benefit from the competition, so it's a win win

I bought the zlt x17u used it for a day then gave it out I'm good with the x17m coz within that 24hrs my x17m was pulling more pcls than the x17u and it also locked to 5g which x17u kept dropping and oooh I popped that thing open the chip inside is unisoc 8520 modem a chip designed and researched on in 2020 I don't know if it is the V620

If the unlock firmware comes out, it could become the most popular ODU oh

Just like X25pro. X25 pro is not the best indoor 5G router but the easy unlock makes it popular, coupled with the fact that it's also a good router.

Not in Lagos U can call the Airtel customer care they will tell U were to get it

No I didn't but it is a fragmented chip with lots of different components with the chip area larger than that of x17m and additional two antennas on top like it has two more antennas compared to x17m
