I think he mean in Naijeeria he is richer than his lecturers even though they are not begging him for food. Some people think that been rich in the Sheet whole is by driving 4 cars or living in a cement and block mansion. grin

If he comes across anyone who Eton college in Windsor He could not even afford one of their vintage cars.

School is scam because most people don't really know what education is. Most think it's by going to school and la cram la pour.

to you they live by salary. If you want to start stating salary to determine riches , then even a governor of a start should be tagged poor.
bro them no dey see runs again like before.most schools stopped sales of handouts.that was their game before now.that word rich is ambiguous.anyhow I don’t intend to argue further
Re: There Is Some Truth To ‘School na Scam’ – Jim Iyke by toprealman: 6:23pm On Jul 09
There is no truth whatsoever in that assertion. School is not a scam! Before you go into any venture, ask questions.
Education offers you the key to success. 99.9% of graduates DO NOT understand this fact. Jim obviously is in this table.
To think that someone with a degree in Philosophy can come up with this tripe says it all.
You are the insulting your lecturers because Nigeria failed them..VOTE OUT APC.

Baba all the lecturers I know are doing well, rich and some , even super rich.

Don't rate them with cars , you will never know their true worth. All the lecturers I know are employers. Even the ones that don't have companies have investments heavily in real estate , but still driving cheap cars to deceive people
Thank God he said his lecturers. That means he went to school to be rich. And some of his classmates are richer than him.

You're even going far. I never knew that he's not intelligent.

For him to say my lecturer meant that he went to school to be rich.

He also forgot that school enabled him to post this rubbish. If he was not educated he wouldn't be on SM

I don't think school is a scam. Education and wealth are two completely different things.

Yes, Jim Iyke may be richer than some of his lecturers, but that doesn't make education worthless. By that logic, every billionaire without a degree proves school is a scam, while every millionaire doctor, engineer, lawyer, or professor proves it's not. Life isn't that simple.

Lecturers don't go into academia to become the richest people in society. Many choose teaching because they're passionate about research, knowledge, and shaping future generations. Their value can't always be measured by their bank account.

School gives you knowledge, critical thinking, discipline, networks, and qualifications. What you do with those tools determines your financial success.

The real lesson is this: don't rely on your certificate alone. Build skills, solve problems, start businesses, invest, and create value. A degree can open doors, but your mindset and actions determine how far you'll go.

Success isn't about choosing between education and entrepreneurship—you can have both. The smartest people leverage education while building wealth outside the classroom.
if school is not a scam

why does Nigeria still looks like 1678 with all its educated people

if school is not a scam, why did university students in FUTO had to call a tree, miracle tree because water was coming out of it

Re: There Is Some Truth To ‘School na Scam’ – Jim Iyke by MasterTeeUSA: 6:41pm On Jul 09
How many of his rich uneducated uncles told their children not to go to school? Those uneducated rich folks send their wards abroad the most because unlike this idiot, they know even money cannot buy wisdom and knowledge. Even in SE, they have association for PhDs. Now with the ban by govt with the use of Dr. by Honorary folks, money bags will learn what we mean by separating the wheat from the shafts.

Why are some well-learned folks Poor?
1. They did not get to their positions by merit.
2. They teach but do not apply what they teach.
3. They have contentment. Not everyone is obsessed with wealth.

My Professor, Ira Levine, may his soul rest in peace, singlehandedly wrote Physical Chemistry. Go and check most college chemistry books, they usually have multiple authors. Not sure he even married or had kids. He was Jewish, so it was rare for him not to marry or have kids. When I went to another state to work in the Chemistry Dept managing the Chemistry Lab as part of my Masters Full Scholarship program, the Professor there was shocked when I told her my Professor was Ira Levine. I think I saw his textbook in her office, and I told her that he was my Professor. He was considered a genius I guess. His final exam was 5.5hrs and midterm exam was 3hrs long. If you see him, you will think he is a homeless guy. Go figure...so don't be fooled by wealth. His textbooks alone probably made him a millionaire already.

If school is really a scam, how would he have turned out if not for education? If he did not go to school, he might not have attained the height he is right now. This is part of the statement giving the “Olodo uprising” more footings.

Your thinking ability is your "school" where problem solving ideas lies but which can only be un-earthened by self development which produces the books, study notes etc. which people who are yet to become Dynamic Beings studies to bag and brag directly and or indirectly about those needless high and low sounding academical titles accuired as a result of studying them.

Abeg, make these school na scam people keep quayet. They are speaking simple garbage.

All right don't go to school. By the time people cheat you in the market every single day because you do not know maths, or by the time you sign a contract that gives you 0.1 percent of your earnings from your own sweat and blood, because you cannot read...you go know school na scam

Plus for every rich person like the joker speaking...there are hundreds of broke ass people who did not finish school and are regretting.

A better way of looking at it is that there are people who manage their money better and those who do not, plus you need to have some school to manage money.

Nigeria and its government, especially this tinubu government, promote the idea that selling oil money and sharing it is the way, which is why we have the wrong idea about school. That's why we need to stop relying on oil money, and start relying on productivity.
With the opportunities in the world now, if someone is regretting not finishing school, the person is a fuuul!
That person should go and get a 21st century skill and make money.

If he has a modicum of sense, he'd know that the academia is a citadel of knowledge, not a money-making ideal. Even Einstein was not "rich" in Jim Iyke's sense.
What's the essence of knowledge that cannot be used as a medium of exchange for something better and valuable?

people makes that mistake of thinking school is a money making place, so once they go to school, they will automatically make it in life, forgetting that school is just a place where you go to acquire knowledge that will prepare you and help you navigate the path to success. School is indeed not a scam any day anytime 💯💯

Some things are done for greater ideals that the average mind cannot easily comprehend. There's more to life than building houses, buying cars and showing off on social media.
Take cancer research for example.

I actually do agree with you..
You made me realise another angle to it,its just that the typical Nigerian's brain is obsessed with
Success that relates to buying cars, building houses and acquiring properties....It will take a lot to make us decenter from these things.....
