VeryDarkMan, a Nigerian social media influencer and activist who describes himself as the "online police" has confirmed that he will visit Iwo, Osun State, on July 15, 2026 following an official invitation from His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, the Oluwo of Iwoland.

Through his official social media pages, VDM confirmed the invitation and stated that he and Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, recently had a video call where they discussed the state of the country and other national and social issues for over two hours. According to him, the discussion later led to the invitation for a physical meeting in Iwo for further discussions.

He also described the visit as his first time traveling to Iwo, Osun State, and said he was delighted to meet the people of Iwo.

In the official invitation, His Majesty, who is known for his unique and modern style of traditional leadership, admirers VDM’s transparence and accountability preachings. The monarch acknowledged his campaign against corruption in the traditional institution, describing him as one of those speaking and fighting against corruption in government. He further noted that VDM's activities through the Ratel Movement have attracted attention and deserve royal engagement.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Emperor Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, also confirmed the invitation, stating that the the visit is aimed at having a face-to-face discussion on issues of national interest. According to the monarch, the meeting will focus on national cohesion and integration, security, promotion of collective identity, and good governance and other matters affecting the country.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians debating the possible outcome of the meeting. While some described the invitation as a well deserved honour for VDM because of his contributions to national conversations and his activism, others criticised the decision and questioned the purpose of the visit.

They LIKE attaching themselves to successful people to be in the spotlight and abandon you when things are bad.

VDM, a social critic is on the path of social justice; Oluwo is on a path of regal rascality smearing mud on the subjects, The Throne, Yorùbá race, and royal institution. How can a monarch be beating another ọba in a meeting? How can an ọba be smoking Igbo on the throne? These have e digital evidences. Any day VDM begins to engage in some dastardly actions as Oluwo, his life begins to crumble.

VDM should however honour the invitation, but with caution.

The Oluwo cannot continue to sit on throne establish by "idol worshippers" and keep claiming to be Arab slave. If he cannot uphold the Yoruba heritage, the he should excuse the throne for someone else instead of his continued activity of denigrating the throne.


All these fake imported religions have destroyed the normal mental processes of a lot of our people.

All Abrahamic religion are idolatory, they only package them well and condemn your heritage as evil, whereas, Nigeria was better in terms of morality, honesty and integrity before they brought the foreign religions.

In peace loving, emotional intelligence, love for neighbors, respect for sanctity of life, we are even better than those who brought those religion with primitive leaders and prophets whose morality and characters are highly questionable.
