HOUSE OF SLEAZE: That President Bola Tinubu’s State House would become a smelly place was not in doubt. From hoary birth papers to illicit educational credentials. From cartel strategist to political usurpation.

It was all a messy stuff ab initio. It was like malevolent aliens were invading Nigeria’s Number One abode. Then add the suborned electoral mandate, stolen most brazenly in the dead of night…

See finishing grin grin

Honestly, Nigerians need to avoid letting emotions becloud their judgment if we want this country to move forward. Let’s be real: the average Nigerian is corrupt, so do we honestly think politicians support Tinubu out of pure love? No, it’s all about the money they are pocketing from the national treasury. The big boys, especially from the North, look the other way because of this corruption and because their own bad behavior—and security failures (look at guys like Ali Modu Sheriff and Bello Matawalle)—is being ignored. I don’t like this kind of politics at all, but there is still a bright side to it.Tinubu is actually setting up a proper federal system and stopping the federal government from choking the states. He is pushing reforms to speed up infrastructure and fix security, basically laying the groundwork for a solid economy. Just look at the Nairaland front page this week—see how many job vacancies reputable companies are posting? The economy is finally turning the corner, and things will only get better if we let him finish his work.We should just look for a better candidate to replace him in 2031 after he has built a strong foundation for Nigeria. Whatever financial crimes Tinubu and his team are committing, they can always face the music later. This is exactly what happened with Lula da Silva in Brazil. This is where the emotional intelligence comes in during elections. If we focus all our energy on fighting corruption right now, Tinubu will be kicked out. But who is the better candidate to replace him? Which of the top politicians is actually clean? None of them.Obasanjo didn’t stop corruption, yet the economy boomed under him. Buhari was hyped as this strict, anti-corruption guy, but he ended up ruining the economy. This proves Nigeria can actually grow despite corruption. We need to prioritize a leader with vision and the liver to fix the economy over focusing solely on corruption scandals.Let the next government in 2031 deal with Tinubu and his boys. They will definitely have their day in court, just like Buhari's people like Malami and Danladi (the CCB boss) are facing the music right now.
Just my opinion, though.
And all the things you claim he is 'setting up' can and may perhaps be reversed when the 'other side' comes back into power.

What guarantees continuity is the strength of a people, the understanding of a people, the solidarity of a people.

So it is incumbent of any government that desires to change the course of a country through reforms to CARRY THE PEOPLE ALONG by doing the business of real leadership.

But when your leadership is elitist, sectional and unjust. When you cannot commit class suicide, when your government is essentially tribal and when you cannot listen and respond to the basic yearnings of the people, they will not defend your so called legacy after your departure.

This is the bane of our democracy. Our inability to gel this nation. Our leaders must always play a zero sum game. We win, they lose. We know all, they don't know anything. So the next set that comes may ride a temporary pretense to get into power. But once they do they chart a new course.

We need leadership that is people centric.
We need politicians without baggage.
We need Presidents that own nobody anything and are willing to be sacked at short notice.
Anything outside that and this country will continue struggling.

How can a commentator be saying the Buhari government was 'that good'. Talking as if we just returned from Mars after a decade in space.

But it is so because as a nation we never seem to have a better future.

You are idealistic and seek a perfect situation, all coming at the same time from the same leadership. You will never get it. None of us is perfect, and no leader will be. What I have canvassed for is a trade-off based on the priority of our needs.
If you find a leader who can do everything idealistically in the opposition, please vote for him.

Aso Rock is currently occupied by individuals whose past has been dogged by allegations of criminality, fraud, thievery and drug trafficking dating back to Chicago and Atlanta.

It is preposterous that some people still believe this set of individuals will work for the betterment of ordinary Nigerians or implement policies that genuinely improve their standard of living.

I posted for critical thinkers. There was nothing personal to warrant the curse and the insult. I have just one vote, like all Nigerians. Vote for who you believe, and I will vote according to my belief.

Stop crying. When you are less emotional, read the post again and think logically.
