Peter Obi: "Soludo Is A Betrayer Of The Igbo Nation" - Prof. Osuji by Racoon(m): 10:41am On Nov 16, 2022
-Professor Chukwuma Soludo's verbal attacks on Peter Obi continues to generate reactions across the nation A former minister of education.

-Prof. Fabian Osuji said the Anambra governor has betrayed the Igbo nation.

The elder statesman asked Soludo to withdraw his statements against Obi or face the wrath of Igbos.

Former minister of education under President Olusegun Obasanjo's administration, Prof. Fabian Osuji, has said that Governor Charles Soludo's stand on the presidential aspiration of ex- Governor Peter Obi, amounts to a betrayal of the Igbo nation.

Osuji said that Soludo's rise to fame was as a result of support from Igbo stakeholders, without whom he wouldn't have risen to the pinnacle of his career.

In a statement on Tuesday, November 15 seen by Legit.ng, the elder statesman averred that Soludo's elevation to professorial position, and his ascendency as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria were as a result of recommendations and supports of his Igbo brothers.

“I am thoroughly embarrassed about the level of hostility being exhibited by our brother and friend, Prof Charles Soludo, towards Peter Obi. Soludo cannot claim to be self made, people like us participated in making him.

“I was Pro-Chancellor and chairman of council at the University of Nigeria, when Soludo's papers came for approval for professorship.

“I could have found reason to withhold or deny assent. But we put him out and praised his work. That made President Obasanjo appoint him Economic Adviser without hesitation.

“Three years later, three of us, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili, and myself, were attending a conference in Brussels, when President Obasanjo called Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was finance minister, to ask for the nomination of governor of the Central Bank.

“We gave a unanimous vote for Prof Charles Soludo. We were ministers of finance, education, and due process as at the time. As Ndigbo, we were proud to support our brother.“He was not the sole candidate; but Obasanjo gave him the position.Everyone rejoiced That was the power of brotherhood.

“Years later, I cannot imagine the same Soludo who benefited resoundingly from our support being the one to pull down his own brother, Peter Obi, who is enjoying overwhelming support elsewhere. I am truly ashamed of Soludo.”

He further urged the Igbo people everywhere in the world, not to allow Soludo to get away with his present actions and inactions.

He said: “Ndigbo should not allow Soludo to get away with this. He should be made to withdraw all his damaging statements against Obi. There is still time for him to reverse himself in this matter.”

No sane Igbo man should worry much because karma 'll simply do the job.Ike Ekweremadu, Ejike Mbaka, Dave Umahi all took on Peter Obi but they all went down. There is something divine about Peter Obi political journey this time around except divinity says otherwise.

This guy messed up.

The so called investment that is "worth next to nothing" is less than 5% of everything he invested. What about the rest, e.g, the naira/dollar investments in three Nigerian banks and other industries? What's Soludo's opinion about those?

Peter Obi invested N3.5bn Anambra's money in the world's largest brewery. That N3.5bn is less than 5% of his total investment by the way.

Of course, shares is a high-risk investment. Every sane investor knows the difference between high-risk, moderate risk, and low-risk investments. Peter Obi did the right thing by embracing all three: shares in a company, MMF, and fixed deposit in three Nigerian banks. That's how sane investors spread their risk.

...And if any of the major investments appear to be failing, Peter Obi has no power to do anything. It is the responsibility of succeeding governors to monitor the market and ensure that the right thing is done.

But that's by the way, after 4 or 8 years, we will compare the performance of the trader to the professor.

Gov. Charles Soludo is the only APGA governor and technically the leader of APGA. Now, APGA has candidates across the constituencies in Anambra State for 2023 elections and they stand the risk of being upstaged by Labour Party unless an aggressive campaign is done led by the APGA leader.

Don't forget that 4 AD governors (Segun Osoba of Ogun State, Lam Adesina of Oyo State; Bisi Akande of Osun State; Adeniyi Adebayo of Ekiti State; and Adebayo Adefarati of Ondo State) in SW lost their seats because they were on the fence as a way of allowing Obasanjo a lee way to get required votes. Yes, Obasanjo won along with PDP governorship candidates while the 'helpful' sitting AD governors became jobless, leaving Gov. Tinubu of Lagos as 'king of the jungle'. History is full of lessons.

Gov. Soludo committed no offense in protecting his interest and that of the party that gave him platform to become governor.

Lastly, it must be said that Prof. Charles Soludo has always had first class brain even from his days as Senior Prefect in Uga Boys High School. So, I am sure he worked for his professorship and still working to uphold it. Professorship is earned not gifted. Prof. Osuji is merely being emotional.

Every sane investor knows there is always a time to liquidate (pull out your funds/agreement) when the market no longer appears favourable? What is Peter Obi's business with that?

The big question is did he hand over investments or not?

It is the responsibility of the sitting governor to study the market terrain and take out the state's shares.

I hope to read the full details of the investment for him

Truly, a mob has no brain.

Today, there are millions of Yorubas, old and young who have endorsed Peter Obi and Atiku, two men who had contributed ABSOLUTELY nothing meaningful into their existence or to their region -- people like Mr. Macaroni, Pa Adebanjo, Obasanjo, Bishop Oyedepo and there likes. They are not declared the enemies of Yoruba.

I cant just fanthom, how an entire tribe became so warped in tribalism, that the only response to any form of opposition: thief, criminal, kill him, kill him and kill him. Now after 2023, after Peter had woefully pander away the political bargaining chips of the Ibos, and come a distant 4th of 5th, they will start showing BIAFLA up and down --- LEFLENDUM -- SIT AT HOME.

All the best!

Take the message and leave the messenger, we all have individuals choices and opinion. Soludo has made his , if you are not comfortable then make yours or take the fastest ride to hell. The Afenifere social cultural Group endorsed Peter Obi and has been a strong critics of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Yoruba's haven't called for the heads of the leadership of the Afenifere. My Igbo people are too emotional Politically.
All those noise are proving Soludo to be right about the Social Mobs tag and the “frenzied nzogbu nzogbu politics” .
I stand with Soludo

The problem with Soludo's statement is not that he lied.

Everything SOLUDO said was the absolute TRUTH.

It was the time, motive and how it is percieved to hurt PO's ambition.

Rubbish. So because Soludo didn't want Anambra to be disgraced on the national stage by the incompetence of a packaged fraud like Peter Obi, he is now a betrayal?

The same demented thief Peter Obi stole Anambra money to buy brewery for himself and left a whooping debt of 185 billion as attested to by Victor Umeh his closest paddy.

These clowns. They want other tribes to support Peter Obi and praise them for speaking against their own people running. But they don't want any Igbo to do the same thing to Peter Obi. Just hear this dumb professor. He is saying all the Yoruba and Fulani people supporting Obi are fools and betrayers of their own people. Let that sink in.

They keep screaming that Obi is not an Igbo or IPOB project but as soon as any Igbo speak against Obi he is branded a saboteur and threatened left, right and center. The same browbeating tactics employed by IPOB.

Right now I don't care who anyone votes for in this election as long as it is not Peter Obi. I will spend the rest of my waking breath campaigning against him from now on. These clowns have to learn wisdom and tact in making statements and decisions

This is what Obi's campaign has been reduced to. No one can speak against him anymore. And he isn't even the president yet. Later they will be asking why other Igbo-speaking minorities don't want to be associated with them. Just look at caveman thinking from a professor.

Soludo has a right to support whomever. Shame on the present crop of Igbo leadership.

Basically what the professor is saying is simple...

Obi is the Igbo candidate.

Message gotten and received in other parts of the country.

When Buhari was portraying himself as the Hausa and Muslim and Fulani candidate, he was getting beaten well well in the elections...till he woke up and toned down his tribalisim, long enough to win the election.

Obi geng better be careful. He is not perfect...but we don't want Atiku or Tinubu in Aso Rock, except as visitors.
