Nigerians are not asking much from the govt. Just provide adequate security for Business and people, sufficient and stable electricity, good infrastructure and good policies, the rest will take care of itself. Investments will come on their own at a rush, the economy will boom and everyone will be happy. We don't want a govt of lies and deception, there is corruption all over the world even though Nigeria's own is much, but Nigerians won't even bother much about it if all the things I listed are done.
The question we should be asking is why, in 65 years of independent Nigeria, successive governments have failed to deliver electricity, pipe-borne water, health care, and basic primary education.

Before you start your response on poor leadership, tribalism and corruption. There are more corrupt countries out there, such as India, and they can still deliver services to their people.

My response is the structure of Nigeria. Nigerians have been forced to develop at the pace of their weakest ethnic group.

In 1999, at the dawn of the Fourth Republic, 12 Northern states decided to institute Sharia law across the country. Northern. Nigeria is shaping its future, not by technology, business or innovation, but by insecurity, religious intolerance and extreme poverty.

Nigeria must return to the regional government. support. local development

He should build it in South East cos they are the most technological included area and most educated so the skills are there and business savvy cos they have partners already and importantly the safest region in Nigeria

500 hectares of land to Abuja Steel Mills Limited for a massive solar-powered steel facility and new industrial park.

Avoid NEPA and Diesel if you can. The quickest way to go underground is by using Diesel. Maintenance go kpai you.

Anything Indian factory makes me uneasy. They'll come and make our people work under unsafe, inhumane work conditions and pay them peanuts while the regulatory authorities look the other way.
They are slave drivers and we have no regulatory agencies except when it concerns their own pockets.

Abeg, abeg, abeg...
Government should be very, very, very careful about this. What kind of steel plant is it going to be.

If it is manufacturing steel from iron ore, fine, great, wonderful.

But if it is a steel recycling plant, we have enough of those....and boy are they causing havoc in this country.

They are the fuel that flames the scourge of the scrap iron scavenger aka 'baban bola' that is behind theft, vandalism and certain degrees of insecurity.

Does Niger state have iron ore deposits?
Are there plans to import iron ore?
If not....trouble is loading.

Ajaokuta is finally buried. Very soon Nigeria will be like South Africa, inhabited by foreigners with the locals relegated to the bushes.

lol
You don’t know that the government officials force them to pay kickbacks and bribes always

Who will bear the brunt?

That is why I don’t blame them lol

When senator, chairman and all tax them and ask for bribe.

The workforce will pay for it
The worker is a family or same country with the officials.

You will do Same if you were in their shoes.

So we should allow corrupt business people to do business in nigeria coz theyre coming with money . You lots are insufferable
Lifestone:
Maybe you should build one for Nigeria. Someone brought his money to do business, you are complaining, you can just set up your own and pay workers $1000/day, that won't be bad

Then discourage our elites from building hotels and bars and encourage them to start building factories. If you remove Indian and Chinese from our economy. We only have bars and hotels. Except for very few that builds factories.
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with building "hotels and bars" if there is DEMAND for them, and they generate MONEY.

The entire economy of Florida, Monaco, Hollywood, Jamaica, Barbados, Bahamas etc, is based on entertainment, luxury resorts, beaches, hotels and tourism, fetching them TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS PER ANNUM.

Economic development is not just "factories".

As if any of you talking here even wants to work in a factory.

If ONE state in Nigeria decides today that they will be the leisure, tourism, and entertainment HEADQUARTERS of Nigeria, and focus ALL their investment in that sector, the state will make unbelievable amounts of money, and attract visitors from all over Nigeria, Africa and the world.

Better than taking the money to Switzerland. Aside, an Indian Man, coming with his money to do business must be allowed to operate his business freely subject the existing laws in Nigeria and not be told how to pay his staff.

God bless you. Even the bar and hotel owners are the brave ones. Many just want to import today and get their money back next week.
