You people will just be saying all sorts and defending nonsense.... so according to you, if I murder someone and I am caught redhanded, the constitution of Nigeria says the police should not hold me beyond 72hrs abi...chaiiiii

He was CAUGHT redhanded driving a car without a plate, obviously they can charge him for it and hold him till he is put before a judge as clearly the criminal penalty for behaving like a kidnapper is more than 4 days in jail.... but let's keep defending rubbish because this is Nigeria
They can't under the constitution he would rather be bailed and charged to court (except for capital crimes like murder, homicide, kidnapping, terrorism or arm robbery). No your right undecided

Actually he might be on detention for far more crimes. Especially the so called tiktok gifts
Don't know about this. But we know that Nigerian policemen aren't averse to bending the rules when they wish.

lol, are you sure Peller is the only olodo uprising star here?

I mean if you don't know that in any sane country, driving a vehicle without a plate number is a serious crime, and then proving stubborn with police when they query you on it is an arrestable offence, then I really don't know if Peller is who you should be thinking about when you mention that word "olodo"
Was he charged to court?
Did a judge sentence him?
In so-called sane countries, he'd have been charged before a court of law, not the court of public opinion.

I have no likeness for the guy but let's condemn lawlessness no matter who's involved.

You are a senior olodo uprising..

PlasmaTV:
Even though I believe that Peller is the ultimate olodo uprising after BAT, his unlawful detention simply shows that the NPF is a shame to herself and to Nigeria.

Filming Police officers on duty?

Where in the world is that an offence so long as the filming took place in a public space?

He escaped being put in prison for reckless driving the other day

If Peller's account is accurate, then spending four days in a police cell without proper access to food or the opportunity to bathe is deeply troubling. Regardless of who you are or what offence you're accused of, every Nigerian deserves to be treated with dignity and in accordance with the law.

This is one of the reasons many Nigerians have little confidence in the police. Too often, there are complaints about unprofessional conduct, abuse of power, poor detention conditions, and a lack of respect for the rights of citizens. Law enforcement should be about protecting the public and upholding justice—not punishing people before they've even been convicted.

If someone obstructs an officer or breaks the law, let the courts decide their guilt. But basic human rights should never depend on whether the person is famous, wealthy, or an ordinary Nigerian.

Hopefully, this experience will spark another conversation about the need for better training, accountability, and professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force. Respect for the law must go both ways: citizens should obey the law, and law enforcement officers should also uphold it.
Na free plan of ChatGPT this one dey use type off point.

He was arrested and arraigned in court within 24 hours as legally stipulated. The court granted him bail based on certain terms and he couldn't meet the terms. The court ordered he remain in Police custody pending the perfection of his bail.
Normally, he should have been remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of his bail

It is important you are well informed about what you are talking about and not just talk because others are talking.

No matter what any Nigerian must not be detained beyond 72 hrs according to the 1999 constitution, and the 4days makes it 96 hrs undecided if he has a sound lawyer he can sue the NPF
He was arraigned within 24 hours and the court ordered he remain in Police custody pending the perfection of his bail. The other option would have been that he be remanded in jail pending the perfection of his bail.

The police did him a huge favour.

From what I heard the US has been tracking those gifts on tiktok. Cuz that's the latest way to launder funds for G boys. Even peller in his foolishness accused javis of collecting funds on commission basis.

Driving without a licence plate is bad for security. I think he was jailed for the assault.

I don't LIKE that noisy boy (Peller) personally, BET make we try dey get sense. Just read the highlighted parts from the 1999 Constitution - you no need to read everything.

If this same BS, wey NPF do the boy, happen to you too in the future, you still have a right not to be detained beyond the time limit specified in the document EXCEPT WHERE ORDERED BY A JUDGE e.g. like your example: if you kpai somebody and dey catch you red-handed.

I am responding to you civilly because you at least took your time to look for where these things are stated, unlike some who will just parrot whatever they hear to support nonsense.

Here is a link from premium times reporting properly on the matter.

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/entertainment/naija-fashion/893649-court-grants-peller-bail-in-case-involving-lagos-state-police.html

He was arrested on Thursday, at 10pm and arraigned on Monday. I am not surprised that they couldn't arraign him on Friday, as just like every other government institution, Friday is half day for the courts.

Reading the article, the only thing the police did wrong, was charging him for filming them, and though they quoted Lagos laws, it is established in almost every sane country that one has the right to record interactions with the police, at least when you can prove it was for your own safety.

Now all of this could have been avoided, if a Peller who claims to be stinkingly rich (shey na wetin he use abuse Ycee), who is not paying school fees for his children, did the right thing from the onset, and either registered the car before taking it or got a vehicle to carry it for him to his house.

In this current situation of kidnappers and insecurity we have within this country can we not use our common sense to see that not having or covering a license plate and tinted cars is more than enough probable reason for a police officer to ask you tough questions, which you should be willing to answer respectfully?

Does the Olodo General need a degree to be able to tell him that?

Hmm...

Yeah, 10.00 PM Thursday till Friday around same time na still 24 hours. Plus, weekend no count as court no dey session. Okay, makes sense now.

On the issue of recording public officers, like the police, at least we're getting somewhere. Gradually we should get it right where citizens can record without prejudice or fear.

That tinted issue is another national debate wey don dey boil taytay. Honestly, I still need to check what the Police Act states on that matter. But the rules have being neither here or there. One time it's okay, another time, it's not again.

Boss, at the end of the day, all these wahala are still symptoms of a dysfunctional system characterised by politicians who place personal motives above national interest. Otherwise, we won't be placing so much emphasis on these things if our intelligence infrastructure is SOLID and not politicised.

No mind that boy jare grin.

Our law enforcement officers still have a long way to go in terms of dealing with the public when it comes to being civil and proper public servants. You get.

Notwithstanding, I no go let my dislike of peller blind me from the thuggish behavior of some police officers - not all of them.

Na why I reply you with those highlighted sections from the constitution.

Stteeepid boy. You are driving a tinted SUV without a plate number and a license. You were asked to park for questioning. Instead of you to turn it to friendly jokes, you started screaming and doing live streaming that police doesn't have the right to question you, as how? A governor son or what? Good that he needs brain reset. Olodo uprising chairman. They should also jail him so that he can be a felon and a convicted animal. He won't be easy for him to travel anywhere again. I hate idiot people.
exactly. The police were just doing their job but as an omo ojukorolari, money miss road boy he must be unnecessarily confrontational and lousy.at least let him learn small
