FatherLord:Please go through the letter and see who even accede to that request in the first place, the most the president, state governors, local government chairmen and the rest can do of which most of them have been doing is to pay a certain sum from that amount or buy forms for a selected numbers.

dettolgel:I agree with your submission completely. I also believe same and moreso, because we live in a developing world where the literary rate is still quite low, subsidizing education up to WAEC Level should be one of the top priorities of government at all level. If you check my very first response, I said your submission was making a whole lot of sense until political colouration was brought in. That necessitated my response. I think there should be time for politics and time for seriousness. This is time for seriousness |

People that don't have work have decided to give themselves something to do by mentioning me and waiting for my comments. I wish them happy waiting, I challenge them to keep doing it for at least a year and I wish them happy job hunting. |

The secondary school level supposed to be the prerogative of the government. At tertiary level, the parents may be made to foot the bills of their children. Even at secondary school level, the government cannot assist parents. The question now is: why do we have government in Nigeria? |

we warned many of U about tinubu, but because he was from Ur side , U all said we were too tribal, he is a tax collector and he enriches himself with it. that was why Obasanjo tried to deal with him when Obasanjo was president but because they were both from sw, Obasanjo released him, where you want poor families to get 50k for waec andv50k for neco and some of these families have twins, abi one twin go write exam and the other won't? no empathy at all |

Eriokanmi:All these stories about men or women unable to pay N10k for their wards is a farce if for 3 years they could not save N10k ,while their wards enjoy free tuition from SS1 -SS 3 WAEC inclusive but could muscle resources to buy aso ebi for ceremonies or do other things but choose to downplay the future of their wards! |

NewHe:Wetin you sabi. I guess you don't live in Lagos, let alone living in Nigeria or you're just pretending. Extreme poverty won't be your portion and I hope you'd say amen to that. Those in that category never wished it could happen. Im helping a stroke patient who has 2 children in school to get a life right now. I just wonder how some of you reason, despite the obvious |

jojothaiv:I doubt this memo or letter being peddled I checked that claim, and as of now there’s *no official announcement from FGN* on June 18, 2026 raising WAEC/NECO registration to *₦50,000 for 2027*. Here’s what’s actually out there: *What the official 2026 fees are* - *WAEC 2026: ₦27,000* - *NECO 2026: ₦22,250* These are the rates WAEC and NECO are using for 2026 registration. *Where the ₦50,000 figure comes from* The ₦50,000 you’re hearing is for *NECO certificate reprint*, not for writing the exam. NECO announced a ₦50,000 fee for reprinting certificates, and NANS has been protesting it. It’s only for people requesting a new copy of their certificate within 1 year of issuance, not for new candidates. *Any govt increase for 2027?* No press release, circular, or Federal Ministry of Education statement about a ₦50,000 registration fee starting 2027 shows up. What states are doing instead is paying fees for students: Taraba paid ₦1.39bn for WAEC, Adamawa released ₦2.4bn, etc. Benue also warned schools not to charge more than ₦5,000 as handling charge for WAEC/NECO. *So no, FGN has not confirmed ₦50,000 registration fee for WAEC/NECO starting 2027.* It’s possible what you heard is either: 1. *Rumor/misinformation* mixing up the ₦50k certificate reprint fee with registration fee 2. *Private schools inflating charges* - some charge ₦250k-₦300k which govt has condemned If FGN does approve an increase, WAEC, NECO, and Federal Ministry of Education usually announce it through official channels and newspapers first. |

Increased to 50k from where? What was the fee before now? When you want to report, bring in the essentials to enable readers appreciate the true situation. Is it 50% increment, or 100% increment? Is it 1% or 40%? Why people dey post nonsense without adding the fact? Was the fee up to 30K before now? Increment at this time, when people can barely feed is satanic. And very wrong. Rather the fee is supposed to be subsidized for the parents. But the OP failed to even let us know what the previous price was. |
