Reading these comments below, and knowing their very racist nature, without Messi will you still be cheering for Argentina??  Note: Argentina used to be 40% black, then by policy they systematically decimated the black population, then imported waves of white Europeans, then stopped counting blacks entirely. Today blacks make up less than 1% of Argentina! 3 Likes

CanadaOrBust:Childish of you to assume I'm a Messi fan, or an Argentina supporter, I support Ronaldo not because he's better than Messi. I support Ronaldo because he's a source of motivation to me. But both of them are good. As for racism, let's not be hypocritical. Racism and discrimination exist everywhere. South Africa has had xenophobic attacks against fellow Africans. No Western country is completely free of racism either. Even here in Nigeria, we discriminate against ourselves with tribal insults and name calling. Jakarta:I get. I just assume almost everyone is a Messi fan because he's such a nice guy. As for racism, which other country has ever set "Blancheamiento" (whitening) as official state policy as shown below? Suppose SA whites had done same? They'd just deport those SA blacks to other African countries and import whites from all over and today SA will be lily white. Also, from what I read, Argentinians seem proud of being racist! 2 Likes

Of a truth, the answer is NO.....apart from Messi, the only Argentinian player that was fascinating recently was Di Maria(now retired) and probably De Paul(due to his love for Messi) and maybe J.Alvarez.......I am not a fan of the rest of the squad hence without Messi, my support is gone.  4 Likes |
