Nothing has suggested we gave real government in power. The rate of kidnappings and insecurity in general under this administration trumps any agenda dubbed as "we have a real government in power". A real government in power would curtail the various secuirty challenges happening all over the country. A real government in power would make it impossible for terrorists to be sacking entire communities in the southwest that were once peaceful long before APC took power. There's actually nothing to be celebratory about security under this administration starting from the Buhari regime.

If the family of the deceased officer are aware of circumstances under which he fell in battle, then no wahala. I just hope they are not as confused as general members of the public were when we read the news report about the rescue with the timelines not matching.

I wish his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Insecurity and kidnapping has increase but what we also have is a govt that is not denying it unlike under Jonathan when they were calling Chibok kidnap a scam for multiple days, Rather in this instance, The kidnap happened on May 15, By May 16, the IGP was at the location of the kidnap and today the victims are back with their families

Governance is not magic where you just waive a wand and all anomalies of decades before get resolved

Was there anything to celebrate under Jonathan when 200 girls in Chibok disappeared and they cant be found or accounted for fully till date or when UN building, Abuja and churches were bombed regularly?

We are not where we should be in terms of security but we can see a different govt posture and not the cluelessness under PDP

Indications from who? Were you on the front lines with them
Bandits were arrested, no evidence. You talked about sending them to hell, no evidence.

Even the slain soldier story is suspicious.

I just hope they wont pull the fake bishop stunt again..

These people are terrible

Its left to the political community to give the people better options. If its Atiku or Obi that are the options, then you can see why people will rather stick to APC and Tinubu
I've already said my piece. The current government has failed in most aspect of governance and it's not in doubt.

Any sensible person will look beyond them and make a choice that would send the bunch of failures far away from power.

However, if anybody chooses to stick with failure that has been confirmed over and over again, such person or group of persons is/are not wise. It's that simple.

That is my personal opinion.

Well, the government owes the citizens accountability. One does not need to join rescue operation to know about how the government got them home. We read about different governments how they rescue their citizens from terrorists all the time.

We were all here when we read about how the American pilot was rescued behind enemy lines in an active war. No big deal for any member of the public to be interested in what the military/government is doing to keep them safe.
There are so many things that go on behind the cameras that ordinary citizens will not know and never know. the key thing is that the victims are back home

Divulging all those details might put our soldiers and possibly their methods and informants at risk. As they are still in active rescue situations all over

Anyone who wants to know once again can join them on the frontlines

This is exactly what rubbished the agenda of "we have a real government in power". No more , no Less.

This is the failure we talked about.

To you everything is suspicious, Its probably a stunt to behead the man, Maybe they were in Bourdillon all the while pretending to be kidnapped

if you are not satisfied with the reports you have and want to see evidence follow them to the frontlines

The role of govt is to resolve matters that come up, Increased insecurity is one of them and we have a govt trying to resolve it when you compare to the previous one that denied the insecurity then we have really come a long way

A wise person will also look at the options available. A wise person you wont say because you are chasing a rat set the whole house on fire

The populace will check the options available and their track record most likely see they are better off with APC/Tinubu than with the other options like Obi or Atiku

There's something I don't understand from the rescue operations of the Oyo kidnap victims and sketchy details provided by the government on it.

The military officer that was mentioned as deceased in the course of the rescue operations has his date of demise as 6th June 2026 , while the victims were officially rescued on 10th July 2026. There's like over a month gap between the officer's date of death and the eventual rescue of the victims.

https://www.nairaland.com/8708622/lieutenant-felix-ademe-isaac-killed

Is it that there was a rescue attempt on 6th of June 2026 which failed resulting to the officer's death before another rescue operation was launched circa 10th July 2026?
They are quick to show us the remains of the soldier who lost his life but failed to show any picture of the bodies of the neutralized terrorists nor the ones arrested as claimed.

Well, all that matters now is that the guys are back, that's enough for us to cheer with

You are being disengenuous...trying to shift to something I never even implied.

Students were rescued...but where are the arrested and slain bandits, because thats what the dubious govt said?

Were those ediots allowed to roam free and look for their next meal?

This is what I have been asking for.

While we celebrate the return of the students..we shouldnt forget that those bandits were probably handsomely rewarded in cash, and allowed to carry on with their activities.

Did this kleptomaniac, whose only interest is 2027 and impoverishment of the masses, do anything to make sure those bandits never roam the streets again?

Saying people should join the frontlines because they have questions about rescue operations that has had many speculations in the past doesn't really make sense sha.

There were rumours flying around about Sharia law, release of terrorists in detention in exchange for the victims, etc.

Nobody is saying the government should sit us down and be telling us the route they followed enter bush, how they deployed drones, use satellite imaging, etc. What we are saying is the government should give details that inspires confidence; assure the citizens that no compromise was made today that will have severe consequence tomorrow (Like release of terrorist commanders), etc.

If u ask me, that's not too much to demand.

The soldiers body will be sent back to his family which is why you saw it, who will they send the bodies of dead terrorists to?

The victims ar back simple

Hundreds of bandits are killed daily by our soldiers, I think its somehow for you to sit in the comfort of your house and try to belittle the effort of those who stay in the forest trying to make you safe.

So, voting out a failure is tantamount to setting the whole house on fire? You literally making a case for rewarding incompetency; such decision is not a wise one at all.

We've seen Tinubu bask in failure for 3 straight years, anybody that gets fooled to re-elect him like they did Buhari who went from bad to worse, such person is actually not wise at all.

It is what it is.

Like what detail exactly will be satisfactory to you?

Rumors of Sharia law, Have they done that to appease the terrorists?

The govt said they released the victims, killed some terrorists, arrested some(which I am not in support of) so what else do you want gangan that will satisfy you

You say that Tinubu has failed, what is the next logical question? Who will do better than him? Or you remove Tinubu and the seat of president remain vacant?

What sense does it make to remove Tinubu and put a known bigger failure in place

A rat in the house is undesirable, but is setting the house on fire the response? Is beheading(Atiku, Obi) the solution to headache(Tinubu)?

The fact that you agree Tinubu is a failure already made my point for me. Removing a failure is never the equivalent of burning the house down, please don't bore me with ur false equivalence in a bid to make a case for someone u already agreed to be a failure.

The people should vote any other person that is yet to occupy the seat and make a mess of it like Tinubu is doing with his cronies.

Cheap gaslighting.

Soldiers are being killed like chicken but this govt will still rehabilitate the same bandits. Is this how you respect the soldiers risking their lives?

Under him, bandits kill security personels and wear their uniform to a peace dialogue. Infact, what type of govt engages in a peace dialogue with bandits, if not a terrible human that is only concernened with power and stealing from peoples pockets?

I'm not even intersted in seeing bodies of the terrorists; we are already used to reading news of our military's success without seeing bodies of the neutralized terrosists. I just pointed out how disjointed the timeline of the release of the victims and demise of the military officer is .

It leaves room for speculations and creates confusion in the mind of readers. News of such national importance should be straight and clear, not something they would be doing rejoinders to and people will start assuming maybe they are cooking things up or hiding some facts.

The govt got the students back. Thank God.

Did the govt make efforts to prevent any further kidnapping by the same group that took those oyo students? Thats the issue.

If the ransom were paid..and the bandits allowed to roam free, dont you think we should brace up for their next hunt? Or do you think they will suddenly repent after cashing out?

Well, u typed with ur own hands that insecurity and kidnapping has increased under Tinubu's administration. That's an admission of failure that is as clear as day. There are facts backing that so no need doing back and forth on it.

You can make different theories that suit you, I can even help you create more scenarios. The one that matter is that the victims are at home now and their families are rejoicing and thankful

There is no solution whether ransom or killing terrorists or anything that is worse than having those victims spend an extra day there in the forest

So if you say they paid ransom, will you rather have the victims remain in the forest and not pay
