Seyi Makinde Confirms Second Teacher Killed in Oriire Abduction

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed that another abducted teacher, Mr. John Olaleye, was killed by his captors during the Oriire Local Government school abduction.

The confirmation came after the rescued victims were handed over to the Oyo State Government. According to the Principal, Mr. Alamu, Mr. Olaleye was killed on the first Sunday of June 2026 while in captivity.

Mr. Alamu disclosed that the kidnappers allegedly carried out the killing after the government refused to meet their demands. He added that the victims witnessed the tragic incident during their time in captivity.

Governor Makinde's confirmation means that two teachers lost their lives during the abduction. Earlier, it was confirmed that Mr. Oyedokun was killed after being beheaded by the abductors.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with the Oyo State Government, while efforts continue to provide them with medical care, psychological support, and other necessary assistance.
