No sane person will argue this. Buhari's time is 5x better this crisis of a government we have.

Bro, do you know Buhari actually spent 8 good solid years as President of this country. He started messing up things immediately he entered but we waited and endured. Endsars came which was the only anger we showed that regime and there after, nothing happens. He even abused us internationally that we are lazy youths but all and all, Buhari spent his 8years in full.....thought I Wouldn't survive it but here I am alive and undergoing the third term of Buhari reincarnation. I sorry for myself and my life.....

I don't know what people expect an Ex-minister that was caught stealing to say!!

Definitely life was easier during Buhari's time, but only an extremely dishonest fellow will not accept that from insecurity to a loop sided economy, all these seeds were planted during Buhari and his predecessors time....and yes Tinubu is planting his own seeds that his successor will also suffer from.

As far as I can see, the last people to hand down a better Nigeria than what they initially met, was in 1960, when the British unfortunately handed it back to us!!
The British did not build a single public school. All schools were either the work of missionaries or the communities. Barely 5% of the country's population was literate at Independence.

The British came to profit from their colonies and not to build them. Thats why the amalgamation was done. The South was solvent while the North was not. A merger ended the losses. It made economic sense but not social nor cultural. They score 20% at best.

I don't blame Hadi Sirika. It's Tinubu that I blame for not throwing him inside prison for the "Nigeria Air" fraud.

In this age where google is a touch away, outlandish and ridiculous claims like the one in bold are not needed to make a solid point.

There is no doubt that the British used us and got the best out of the relationship with us..... however this does not change the fact that in general, the peoples that make Nigeria, saw development, better health and security while the British ruled us. For example:

Jihadist existed before and during the British. They tamed them.

Yorubas were in a 100 year war between ourselves before and during the British, we eventually got tired and got tamed.

The "Igbo" identity and end of their smalltime republican behaviour was achieved during the British reign.

In 1960, Nigeria's GDP alone was already 10% of Africa's GDP. A typical Nigerian's per capita income then made them as rich or richer than the average South Korean and Chinese.

Also then we did not have such an uneven society with people as strikingly and routinely wealthy as Dangote or our thieving politicians.

So please, take it easy with the Negritude propaganda, when most of you won't even bother to spend time with your grandparents asking their opinion or just a minute or two on google to verify easily debunkable claims.

Alright, I should have done some homework before stat8ng some of my views. Nevertheless, I still stand my ground that they could have done much more.

Your per capita stats did not impress much because times are different. In those times, industrialized countries were rich nations. Nowadays, even poverty stricken Pakistan is labelled as an industrialized nation.

When i did a Google search, it said the British did not put much effort into education, as they ran the nation on a "shoestring budget." That was the exact phrase.

I dont believe in the negritude blabber. I am actually neutral. Likewise, I dont have to meet a grandpa to find out if things were better. My late dad was born 1936. Things are always relative. People would say things were cheap, but everyone was poor. My dad found it hard to feed with a job he had while single, living in the Midwestern State. This was in the 1960s.

A very beautiful response to the talkative, who is trying to tell us that the British that came to milk Nigeria Dry established the Queen and Kings College and their Barewa - for the Elites that was Collaborating with the Slave Master 😥.
They want to rewrite history that Slavery is better for Majority of Nigerians and food were Cheaper just because they Failed to See 🙈 Big Picture 🖼️ that Amalgamation of Nigeria by Lordlugard in 1914 Was a Big Minus of achieving the White man hegemony and as a Conquering Master.
Choice Is A Big Topic in Economics,so let those who love Yesterday Go and live with the Buhari's disaster Govt.
So,we have Moved!

Let us be brave enough to dissolve Nigeria. All parts of Nigeria have more than enough to prosper. Look at desert countries that are prospering
A breakup can serve as catalyst for development just as the seizure of Lagos local government funds kick-started Lagos. The waste of government resources by Buhari to the extent of using 96 percent of revenue to pay debt while the things the monies were borrowed for were left undone was the catalyst that led to VAT and CIT and now oil is less than 25 percent of government revenue. A breakup will help everybody in the same way

Work for breakup. Join the nations that are serious.

During Buhari the common man bought dollars at double the rate it was sold to Buhari's friends and all you needed to become a billionaire in one hour is dollar allocations and that is a government some people are praising?

If we were in a sane country you know where you ought to be by now.
Very unfortunate thing!

Sheuns:
Buhari met the country in a bad state and left it in a worse state.

Tinubu met the country in a worse state and took it below worst state.
And he's going to bury it completely in 2027.
