Adeniyi Adeyemi: I Borrowed N100m To Secure PFIPC DG Appointment by DiamondsAreFore(op): 6:53am On Jul 14
Adeniyi Adeyemi, director-general (DG) of the “controversial” presidential foreign intervention promotion council (PFIPC), says those who lent him N100 million to secure the appointment have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over repayment.

Adeyemi, who is facing allegations of forgery and impersonation over the existence of the PFIPC, spoke on Monday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

The presidency has said the council does not exist and that Adeyemi was never appointed by the office of the chief of staff to the president.

On July 7, President Bola Tinubu directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a “thorough investigation” into the PFIPC controversy.

Responding to questions about the source of the funds he used to operate and resources at his disposal, Adeyemi said the money was borrowed.

Mr. Seun, I borrowed this money. In fact, those that I borrowed this N100 million have reported to EFCC,” he said.

I borrowed this money to pay for this appointment. In fact, I can tell you, they have reported to the EFCC, asking me to refund their money. I borrowed this money.”

UN APPOINTMENT CLAIM IS CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY’

Adeyemi also dismissed allegations that he falsely claimed to have received an appointment from the United Nations (UN).

“It’s all sponsored. It’s a campaign of calumny. They should let us face the facts and documents. It is unfortunate that some actors in the government are taking up this matter. It’s unfortunate, and it’s embarrassing,” he said.

“Honestly, imagine the government claiming that one man, and called me a con artist, manoeuvred the whole system; it is unfortunate.”

Reacting to reports that a US-based lobbying firm is helping him seek asylum abroad, Adeyemi denied planning to leave Nigeria.

“I just ignored it because they sponsor a lot of people to bring my social media handle down,” he said.

“I don’t really know much about what is going on again. They said I was about to run away out of Nigeria. I’m still in Nigeria. I’m not going anywhere.”

This guy needs to be put in jail for life. He has absolutely decided that he will never get rich and successful in life through legitimate means.

He could borrow a large sum of money to pose a fake appointment like the World Youth Organisation speaker and lobby to arrange fake federal agency (PFIPC), but the fraudster will never think of developing a real and legitimate organisation/company producing goods and services for the the betterment of his life and Nigerians.

You have too much sense to be a Nigerian!!

The typical Nigerians are the frivolous comments above yours which obviously fail to come to logical let alone moral conclusions.

This is what they all do. Seek political and public administration appointment because they know it is literally slush funds in Nigeria and quickest way to make wealth, through corruption, that diminishes Nigeria's socio-economic status and progress.

They add no value to our nation and are actually menaces to society.

Maybe you should take it up with the Tchief of Staff and a president who appointed and continues to retain him despite several scandals that even predates his sojourn into politics.

The fastest way to get rich in Nigeria today is either by being elected into political office or get a political appointment.

Those guys cannot think of a business neither can they sustain one.

I have said it before that this guy does not look like someone with that kind of money. He looks like one of those 'Fake it till you make it' kind of people.

Apart from impersonation, this guy would have used this his fake organization to dupe a lot of his friends and family, with a promise of good returns when his agency finally comes up fully.

I can imagine the number of people he would have promised one contract or the other.
To be honest, this guy does not look like someone who could have afforded 400 million without some form of loan from other people he may have duped.

The reason he tries to take pictures with dignataries is to create a semblance of association with top government officials so that he can easily facscilitate fraud. He most likely uses such an association to legalise and perpetrate fraud. I can almost swear that this guy did not finish school and may also be parading a fake certificate. Folks like him are often delusional and will find it very difficult to stay in a classroom when all they do is dream about millions or billions.

Imagine, you are associated with him, and you see pictures of him with VP, Obj, Saraki, etc, if he tells you to bring 20M for him that he will give you in 3 weeks with interest, a lot of people will go and hustle that money to give him, hoping that he will remember them in paradise.

One thing I can infer from all of these is that he is so bold that it is often hard for people to believe anyone can be so audacious without some authority and backing. Imagine meeting international envoys on behalf of a non-existent agency. There are people like him everywhere, just that he seems to have an extra layer of boldness. There are also many of them in the US, in fact, if you hear some of the heists that Americans pull, you will be wondering if it is the same America we all know.

Something tells me that this is not the last we will hear about him. Give him another 10 years, he will pull another audacious stunt. People like him can never change.

If government likes, they should not shoot this fellow dead publicly as a deterrent to others like him. Desperate times call for desperate measures. See ICE in US, since they started their not too gentlemanly approach to illegal migrants, illegal migrants no calm down? Some crimes don't understand gentleman correction.

Adeniyi Adeyemi's claim that he borrowed ₦100 million to secure an appointment as Director-General of the now-disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) is staggering.

The Presidency says the PFIPC does not exist and that Adeyemi was never appointed. If that's true, it raises an even bigger question: how was a supposedly fake government agency able to appear so official?

If Adeyemi is lying, then it is an extraordinary case of alleged fraud and impersonation. If he's telling the truth, then public appointments are allegedly being bought and sold. Either way, it exposes serious institutional failures.

Even more revealing is that those who allegedly lent him the money have reportedly petitioned the EFCC not because they objected to paying for an appointment, but because they want their money back.

The investigation must establish the facts. But one thing is already clear: this saga has exposed just how vulnerable public institutions are to fraud or how believable allegations of influence-peddling have become in Nigeria.

Make una the reason na.

It is only logical and reasonable for the people from whom he borrowed from to ask for repayment and more so petition relevant authorities.
He said it with his own mouth "he borrowed"
Did you expect the people that lend him the money to have forgotten about their funds when he ran afoul of the law?

Where should the disgraced Georgia lawyer who collaborated with him as Tinubu CoS be?

Should the bigger thief be let go while we lynch the petty thief? Is that how we will develop and stop praying for japa visas to make oyinbo and Asian places better than our own country huh

I guess there is truth to Oshiomole saying that APC is the Assembly of Past Criminals.

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

Do you know why the people in this government don't even care about the consequences of their actions?

Because Tinubu is a man with questionable characters!!
Nothing about him is transparent!!
From his age, his school, his source of income before he became a senator, the criteria of his appointments!!

He is just off!
I find it difficult to believe that people collect 30k monthly stipends just to defend this man!!!
Like,
Asin, 30 thousand naira!! Less than our monthly recharge card money!! That's what they pay them to defend this trash called Tinubus government.
